Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove chips adhered to a taper section by air even under a condition that a tool holder is fitted to a main shaft by fitting the tool holder to the main shaft as a part of the taper section of the holder. CONSTITUTION:A tool holder 2 is fitted to a main shaft 1, and a main shaft hole taper section 5 is in contact with a tool holder taper section 6 only at A and B sections. Therefore, when the compressed air is fed through an air discharge port 4, the air flow in the arrow direction through the gap between a main shaft hole taper face and a tool holder taper face, and is discharged outside. Chips adhered on the taper face of the main shaft hole are blown off by means of this air flow, which gives a good cleaning. Recesses and protrusions shown as C, D are provided on the taper section of the tool holder, thus varying the gap of the taper section, thereby the air flow speed is accelerated or decelerated and the cleaning effect can be improved.
