Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce rotation of a turning member, by causing unbalance on the opposite sides of the vertical line passing through the center of the turning member through employment of such an arrangement that pendulum-like weights disposed around the circumference of the turning member are directed in the same direction at any position of the circumference of the turning member. CONSTITUTION:A weight 1 in the form of a pendulum is fixed to a shaft 3 together with a sprocket 3, and two such weights 1 are disposed around the circumference of a turning member 4 in a freely rotatable manner. The turning member 4 is fixed to an output shaft 5 and supported by a main body 6 in a freely rotatable manner. A sprocket 7 mounted on the main body 6 has a gear ratio of 1 to the sprocket 3, and a chain 8 is passed around the two sprockets 7 and 3. In the state (a) shown in the drawing, the weights 1 are directed downward and kept stationary since they are located symmetrically on the opposite sides of a vertical line Z-Z (along which gravity is acted) and balanced with each other.
