Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the number of parts in a detecting means and to simplify fabrication, in the apparatus wherein one printing head performs printing on a plurality of printing media, by providing a shielding plate which is rotated in synchronization with carrier movement and a sernsor which detects said shielding plate. CONSTITUTION:When a driving gear 5 is rotated by the driving of a motor, a timing belt 4 is moved, and a carrier 1 is guided by a guide shaft 3 and moved back and forth in the directions of an arrow a1. In this case, the shielding plate 9 is fixed to an idler gear 6 and the sensor S is fixed to the main body of the apparatus. At the moment when the shielding plate 9 is first detected by the sensor S, a printing head 2 is located at a print starting reference point P1 of a receipt (a). At the moment when the shielding plate 9 is detected second and third times after the idler gear 6 has been further rotated, the printing head 2 is located at the print starting reference points P2 and P3 for a journal (b) and a slip (c).

FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram illustrating a conventional printing device of this type. S t+ , S t, and S tz are printing stations, the first printing station St+ receives receipt a as a printing medium, the second printing station St+ receives receipt a as a printing medium, and At the third printing station St3, slips C are respectively stored as printing media. Each of these print media a,
, b, and c are supported by a platen and fed as in a normal printing device. A print head 2 is mounted on the carrier 1, and the carrier 1 is guided by a guide shaft 3 to each print station St+.
-3 It is transported back and forth in front of t3 in the direction of arrow a1. The carrier I is transported in the direction of the arrow a1 by means of a known feed screw or timing belt 4. That is, an endless timing belt 4 is passed between a drive source gear 5 and an idler gear 6, and the carrier 1 is fixed to a part of the timing belt 4. Therefore, when the drive source gear 5 is rotated by the motor 7 in the direction of the arrow a2, and the timing belt 4 reciprocates, the carrier 1 is reciprocated in the direction of the arrow a1. As a result, printing is performed on each of the printing media a, b, and c while reciprocating in the direction of the arrow a1 with the printing gutter 2 mounted on the carrier l. Each print medium a

However, in the conventional device, the sensors S1, S), S) are set for each printing start reference position P+, Pz, P3 in this way.
Not only does this increase the number of sensor parts, but it also requires positioning and adjusting each sensor S+, Sz %S, to a predetermined position before fixing it. Work such as maintenance and inspection is inefficient.

An object of the present invention is to eliminate such problems in conventional printing devices and to enable only one sensor to be used. To achieve this object, the present invention provides an apparatus in which a single print head passes in front of a plurality of print stations and prints on a print medium set in each print station. comprising one or more shielding members rotated by the means for moving in the space direction and one detection means for detecting the shielding members, and each time the shielding member is detected by the detection means, the print head detects each print. This configuration is such that they are arranged in a positional relationship that corresponds to the printing start reference position at the station.

FIG. 3 is a schematic diagram showing a printing device according to an embodiment of the present invention corresponding to FIG. are given the same reference numerals. That is, the carrier l on which the printing gutter 2 is mounted is guided by the guide shaft 3ζ and reciprocated in the direction of the arrow a1 by the timing belt 4. Idler gear No. 6 Ct and a shielding plate 9 are fixed, and a sensor S for detecting No. 4 and 1A shielding plates 9 is fixed to the main body of the device. When the idler gear 6 rotates once and the shielding plate 9 is detected by the sensor S, the gutter 2 moves from the printing start reference position liP + to the position Pl, or from the printing start reference position WIP 2. The positional relationship is such that it moves to position P3. Therefore, at the moment when the shielding plate 9 is detected by the sensor S as shown in FIG. At the moment when the shielding plate 9 is detected for the second time, the print head 2 is exactly located at the printing start reference position P2 of the journal b. Similarly, at the moment when the idler gear 6 makes one more rotation and the shielding plate 9 is detected for the third time, the print head 2 is exactly located at the printing start reference position P3 of the slip C. Therefore, similarly to the apparatus shown in FIG. 1, each printing station SL+ is

In addition, while the timing belt 4 is transferring the printing to the printing stage 2 or 1, the idler gear 6
The structure is such that the shielding plate 9 is detected once by the sensor S for one rotation of the shielding plate 9.However, a plurality of shielding plates 9 are arranged around the same idler gear 6, and the detection timing of each shielding plate is the same as the start of each print. A configuration corresponding to the reference positions PI%P2 and P+ is also possible. Moreover, the shielding plate 9 may be attached to the shaft of the idler gear 6 instead of being attached directly to the idler gear 6. The same effect can be achieved by attaching the shielding plate 9 to the drive source gear 5 side, or directly or indirectly by the drive source gear 5. The shielding plate 9 may be configured to rotate by another rotating body that is driven. In a system in which the carrier 1 is transported using a feed screw instead of the timing belt type, similar effects can be obtained by configuring the feed screw and the shielding plate 9 to rotate in synchronization.

As described above, in the present invention, the print head reciprocates in front of a plurality of print stage dates on which each print medium is set/loaded, such as receipts, journals, and slips, and prints on each print stage date. It targets devices that print on printed media. And in such a printing device,
one or more shielding members rotated by means for transporting the carrier in the space direction on which the print head is mounted, and one detection means for detecting the shielding members, each of the shielding members being detected by the detection means; At this time, the positional relationship is such that the second dot corresponds to the printing start reference position at each printing stage date. Therefore, only one sensor is required to detect each printing start reference position, and the number of parts is reduced. Furthermore, in a conventional device equipped with a plurality of sensors, it is necessary to position the mutual positional relationship of each sensor with high precision, but when there is only one sensor as in the present invention, positioning of the mutual relationship of the sensors &l1g1. This eliminates the need for assembly and manufacturing, and simplifies work during maintenance and inspection.
