本発明はかかる従来の欠点を解消し、ワークキールおよ
び中間ロールの組替えを容易かつ安全に行ない得るよう
にした多段クラスタ圧延機の提供を目的とする。かかる
目的全達成する本発明の構成は、上下一対のワークロー
ルと、同ワークロールを支持する上下各2本1組の中間
ロールと、同中間ロールを抑圧支持する複数個の補強ロ
ールとが上下対称に配設された多段クラスタ圧延機にお
いて、前記ワークルールおよび前記中間p−ルの夫々の
両端部に同ワークロールおよび同中間ロール′fI:回
転可能に支持するメタルチョックを設け、同メタルチ1
ツクの夫々の圧延方向前後の端部に前記ワークルールお
よび前記中間ロールを単独若しくは同時に軸方向に搬鉱
し得る車輪を設ける一方、圧延機のハウジング側に前記

量が増大しても安全かつ容易に組替作業を行なうことが
できるとともにロールに損傷を生じることもない。ま九
、車輪16.17に電動機中油圧シリンダ尋の駆動装置
およびその制御装fを設けることでロールの搬出入作業
の自動化も可能となシ、作業時間の短縮化が図れるとと
−に作業KmllIを要せず、安全かつ簡単にしかも迅
速な作業を行なうことができる。よって、組替作業の省
力化上図り、高能率なロール組替を行なうことができる
