DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION A class of cationic quaternary ammonium compounds, when added to the final rinse bath of a washing machine, can impart improved handling to a variety of textiles, such as cotton, wool, and cotton-synthetic-mix fabrics. It is known that at the same time it provides antistatic properties. However, it is difficult to prepare the highly concentrated formulations (2) of these soft rinses and to uniformly disperse them in the cold rinse water, since soft rinses can be used in concentrated surface water or alcohol-based formulations. If added in the form of a liquid solution, a gel-like precipitate will form, which can stain the items being washed.

Therefore, up to now, cleaning agents have generally been used in the form of dilute aqueous solutions with a concentration of about 2 to 10%. However, dilute solutions have various drawbacks. For example, if it is stored in the cold, it will form a liquid, and after freezing and thawing again, it will take on the consistency of a gel and can no longer be converted into a homogeneous solution. Another disadvantage is that the water content of this dilute solution is unnecessarily high.

It has now been discovered that it is possible to prepare a concentrated liquid formulation of a cleaning agent that does not have the disadvantages of these dilute solutions and is also easily dispersible in cold rinse water.

Accordingly, the present invention relates to the general formula 1 in which methyl represents a branched alkyl or alkenyl each containing 12 to 30 carbon atoms, in particular 14 to 18 carbon atoms; R2 represents C4 to C4-alkyl. and A represents an anion) and optionally with other auxiliary materials.

The quaternary ammonium compounds of the above general formula are obtained by customary methods starting from methyl-branched fatty acids. Amides are prepared from this acid with ammonia and nitriles are prepared from these amides, which are converted to dialkylamines by hydrogenation. This dialkylamine is then alkylated (4) and quaternized using known methods. A methyl-branched alkyl or alkenyl group is a mixture of isomers with methyl groups in various positions. Preferred anions are chloride ion,
Methosulfate ion, ethosulfate ion, methophosphate ion or ethophosphate ion.

R2としてはメチルが好ましい。Methyl is preferred as R2.

The soft rinse agent according to the invention in this case contains a certain amount (approximately 5 to 60% by weight) of such lower alcohols. The soft rinse agent according to the invention contains common non-ionic dispersants or emulsifiers based on oxyalkylates which serve to make the soft rinse agent easily dispersible in cold water. You can also do that. Suitable nonionic dispersants include (5) for example about 2 to 12 moles of ethylene oxide in each case;

It is the reaction product with 1 mole of fatty alcohol containing 5 carbon atoms or with a mixture of such fatty alcohols. The amount of these nonionic compounds is 3 to 10% in the case of a soft rinse agent with a low concentration of the compound of formula 1, about 10 to 60% by weight.

A high-concentration soft rinse agent for washing in which the concentration of the compound of general formula 1 is about 30 to 70% by weight is about 5 to 20% by weight.
It is preferable to contain a nonionic dispersant with severe tremors. In the case of dilute commercial soft rinses, the addition of such dispersants is not necessary.

Furthermore, such a highly concentrated cleaning agent (6) may further contain 5 to 30% by weight of ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, polyglobylene glycol, or C1 to 30% of these compounds. Preference is given to containing C4-alkyl ethers. It is clear that among this group of products only liquid compounds are suitable. These compounds exhibit a solubilizing effect in the soft rinse agent for washing according to the invention.

The soft rinse rinse according to the invention exhibits sufficient softening properties and can be easily dispersed in cold water without interfering gel formation. The advantage in this regard is that the concentrated liquid can be introduced directly into domestic machines using suitable dosing equipment. In order to obtain sufficient solubility in the washing machine, the concentrate according to the invention can also be diluted only immediately before being placed in the washing machine. Soft rinse agents for washing can be marketed not only in concentrated form and as dilute aqueous solutions. For this reason, it is no longer necessary to transport large amounts of water during all stages of marketing, which are ultimately unnecessary.
