Abstract

PURPOSE:To make possible the car height adjustment during suspension of the operation of an engine, by energizing a magnetizing coil by closing a door switch so that change-over switches are connected to a power source thereby allowing a car height control circuit to be operated even though the operation of the engine is suspended. CONSTITUTION:When a car is in operation, a combination switch 3 and change- over switches 8, 9 are connected, and therefore a control circuit 1 is electrically charged from a battery (B) so that the car height adjustment is carried. When the combination switch 3 is turned off to stop the engine, a door switch 11 is closed to energize a magnetizing coil 13 so that movable contacts 8c, 9c of the change-over switches 8, 9 are turned to terminals 8b, 9b. Accordingly, the battery power source is connected to the control circuit 1, which is turn performs the car height adjustment. In this arrangement, the height of the car can be adjusted even though the operation of the engine is suspended.

The present applicant has previously proposed a vehicle height adjustment device based on a series of studies. A vehicle height adjustment device uses a vehicle height sensor to detect changes in vehicle height due to the load applied to the vehicle, processes the detection signal from the vehicle height sensor in a control circuit, and outputs a control signal from the control circuit to control the actuator. This is a device that automatically maintains the vehicle height at a preset regular height by operating a mechanical system such as a drive device. Such a vehicle height adjustment device is comprised of an electrical system that detects changes in vehicle height and outputs signals for constant control, and a mechanical system that actually changes the height of the vehicle. The mechanical system will not operate unless a certain instruction is given by a control signal output from a control circuit that is the center of the electrical system.

Therefore, when the electrical system is not powered on, that is, when the combination switch is turned off, the vehicle height cannot be automatically adjusted. However, in actual vehicle usage, for example, after the vehicle load increases and the vehicle height is adjusted, the combination switch is turned off to stop the engine, and then the occupants exit the vehicle or unload their luggage. In such a case, the combination switch has already been turned off and battery power has not been applied to the electrical system, so the vehicle height will not be adjusted. Therefore, when a vehicle is stopped due to the above-mentioned circumstances, the vehicle height is not adjusted to the normal height and is maintained at a high vehicle height, resulting in an unnatural appearance of the vehicle body, which is not desirable.

In the above configuration, while the vehicle is in operation, the movable element 4 of the combination switch 3 is connected to the terminals 6, 7, and the movable contacts gc, 9c of the changeover switches 8, 9 are connected to the terminals 8a, 9a.
Since the control circuit is connected to the vehicle, the control circuit, which is supplied with electricity from the battery power source, can automatically adjust the vehicle height. When the combination switch 3 is turned off and the engine is stopped, electricity cannot be supplied to the control circuit 1, so the vehicle height cannot be adjusted. However, when the vehicle door is opened after the engine has stopped and a passenger exits the vehicle or unloads luggage, the door switch 11 is closed, and the excitation coil 13 is energized, causing the movable contact 8c of the changeover switch 8.9 to close. ,
9c is switched to the terminal gb, 9b side. In this way, the control circuit 1 is connected to the battery power source via the terminals Bb and gb, and the control circuit 1 is activated and the predetermined vehicle height adjustment according to the change in vehicle height can be performed after the engine is stopped. is also possible. When the door is opened and the passenger gets out of the vehicle, the load on the vehicle becomes smaller, so the drive system that had been raising the vehicle height gradually weakens its force and keeps the vehicle height at the normal height. Try to keep it in place. When exiting the vehicle is completed and the vehicle door is finally closed, the door switch 11 is also opened, the excitation coil 13 is deenergized, the movable contacts 8c and 9c are switched to the terminals Bb and gb, and the power is turned off. to stop the vehicle height adjustment operation.

As described above, the operation of the door switch is utilized during the time when the vehicle door is open to turn on the power to the control circuit 1 and perform the vehicle height adjustment operation even after the combination switch is turned off. If the door is open for a short time, it may not be possible to completely correct the problem, but at least the extreme unnatural appearance of the vehicle body can be corrected.

Furthermore, since it is natural that the time the door is open is proportional to the number of people on board when getting off the vehicle, and to the amount of luggage when unloading, the amount of adjustment of the vehicle height according to the present invention is also This is convenient because it is proportional to the number of passengers and the amount of loaded luggage.

As is clear from the above explanation, according to the present invention, the vehicle height can be automatically adjusted even after the engine has stopped, so that the unnatural appearance of the vehicle when the vehicle is stopped can be eliminated. . In addition, the vehicle height adjustment can be easily and safely activated temporarily after turning off the vehicle height adjustment switch, and the circuit to achieve this is a circuit that utilizes the electrical circuit elements of conventional vehicles. It can be constructed by simply making changes and has an economical advantage.

In particular, the period for adjusting the vehicle height is limited to the period from when a person opens the door until it closes, so the period of time for adjusting the vehicle height is limited (at any rate, a person is close to the vehicle during the operation period, so it is difficult to monitor whether the operation status is normal or abnormal). It has the effect of being able to.
