Abstract

PURPOSE:To concurrently print both surface and back sides of a printing paper by providing the first and second printing units at a given interval in the advencing direction. CONSTITUTION:Stored date in a memory 12 are readout by a controller 11 and sent out to a changeover switch 13, and data in odd-pages are sent to the first memory 14 and data on even-pages are sent to the second memory 15. Then, data stored in the first and second memories 14 and 15 are orderly and synronously read out by the first printing unit controller 16 and the second printing unit controller 17 and signals S1 and S2 are sent to the first and second printing heads 3 and 6, respectively. The printing heads 3 and 6 operate, odd-pages are printed on the surface side of a printing paper by the printing unit 4 and also even-pages are printed on the back side by the printing unit 7. When final data on each line of each page are read out by the first and second printing unit controllers 16 and 17, line feed signals L1 and L2 are each sent out to AND gate 18, output ''1'' of the gate 18 is sent to a line feed operation mechanism 19, and the line feeding of printed face is made.

Conventional printing devices for creating documents, etc. usually have only one printing unit consisting of a combination of a platen and a print head, and therefore can only print on one side of printing paper. Therefore, it was not possible to print on both sides of a predetermined printing paper, and it was not possible to have a configuration similar to one book. If such a conventional printing device were to perform double-sided printing to create a book-like structure, it would be necessary to manually turn the printing paper over after printing on one side of the printing paper, which would reduce printing efficiency. is extremely low and cannot be put to practical use at all.

Considering this, when a conventional printing device prints a certain amount of data on one side of a specified printing paper and prints it on multiple sheets, the thickness of 7' is almost the same. It was something like that. Furthermore, since the printing is done on only one side, it takes a long time to print constant data. The present invention has been made in response to the above-mentioned circumstances, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a double-sided printing device capable of simultaneously printing on both sides of a printing paper. 4 Hereinafter, embodiments of the double-sided printing device according to the present invention will be explained to the calling side based on the attached drawings.

In FIG. 1, at a predetermined position on the paper feed path of the printing paper 1, there is a first print head which is connected to a combination of a first platen 2 and a first print head 3 provided opposite to the printing surface of this platen 2. A printing unit 4 is provided, and a second platen 5 is provided at a position a predetermined distance away from the first printing unit 4 in the traveling direction of the printing paper 1, and is provided opposite to the printing surface of the platen 5. A second printing unit 7 is provided, consisting of a second printing head 6 which is connected to the second printing head 6 . Note that the reference numeral 8 is a mechanism for feeding out the printing paper 10.

Between each platen 2.5 of these two printing units) 4.7, as shown in FIG. It is hung around the second platen 5 with its front surface in contact with it. Therefore, the front surface of the print paper 10 faces the first print head 3, and the back surface of the print paper 1 faces the second print head 6. The first printing unit 4 and the second printing unit 7 have a printing surface 9 of the first printing unit 4 and a printing surface 10 of the second printing unit T, as shown in FIG. A gap is provided at a distance of one page in the printing operation. Therefore, when the first printing unit 4 prints the third page (3p) on the front side of the printing paper 10, the second printing unit I prints the 11th

The first printing unit 4 and the second printing unit 7 are controlled by a control section HE shown in FIG. first,
The sub-side part 11 sequentially reads data to be printed stored in the main memory 12 from Ml negative to a predetermined negative number. The control unit 11 sends the read data to the changeover switch 13, and the changeover switch 13 determines whether the sent data is for odd-numbered pages or even-numbered pages.
The data of 5'P, ......) is sent to the first memory 14, and the data of even numbered pages (2P, 4P, 6P, ...
...) is distributed to the second memory 15 and sent out. Note that at this time, the first memory in the second memory 15
No data is input to the address corresponding to the IP of the memory 14, and dummy data D is used. this is,
As is clear from FIG. 2, when printing the first page (IP) with the first printing unit 4, the second printing unit 1
This is to prevent printing operation. Next, the first printing unit control section 16 and the second printing unit control section 17
IP: D, 3P: 2P, 5P: 4P,...
The first memory 1 is synchronized as follows.
The data to be printed stored in the memory 4 and the second memory 15 are sequentially read from the upper position, and a print signal 81% S2 is sent to the first print head 3 and the second print head 6, respectively. This print signal 81. .. 82, each print head 3.6 operates, and as shown in FIG. Print even numbered pages on the side.

When the first printing unit control section 16 and the second printing unit control section 17 have read out the final data of each line of each member, the first printing unit control section 16 and the second printing unit control section 17 send line feed signals Ll and L2 to an AND gate 18, respectively.
Send to. When the above two line feed signals L1 and L2 are input to the AND gate 1B, it means that printing of all the corresponding lines on each page has been completed, and the AND gate 1B sends an output 1111 to the line feed operation mechanism 19. , this line feed operation mechanism 19 sends out a line feed signal and performs a line feed on the printed surface.

同様にして、上位置から次頁への改行も行われる。Similarly, a line break from the top position to the next page is also performed.

このようにして印字用紙1の両面に印字が行われる。In this way, printing is performed on both sides of the printing paper 1.

In addition, as shown by the broken line in FIG. 1, the second print head 6 can be provided on the opposite side of the second plug-in 50, but in this case, the characters on the print head 6 are inverted characters and the scanning direction is reversed. The direction is good.

Since the present invention is configured as described above, by providing the first printing unit 4 and the second printing unit 7 at a predetermined distance apart in the direction of movement of the printing paper 1, the printing paper 1
It is possible to print on both the front and back sides at the same time. Therefore, it is possible to print the upper position and the adjacent lower page on both sides of a paper having a predetermined shape, and by cutting the paper into a predetermined shape and stitching them together, it is possible to create a structure like a book. Therefore, compared to conventional single-sided printing, the combined thickness can be halved. Furthermore, since printing is performed on both sides, the time required to print a certain amount of data can be reduced to approximately half of the conventional method.
