Conventionally, this type of automatic light on/off switch has generally been designed to detect ambient brightness using a visible light sensor such as a CDS, and turn off the light during the day and turn on the light at night. However, such a switch has a simple operation that turns the lighting on and off depending only on the surrounding brightness, and at night, it remains lit regardless of whether there is a person present or not. Therefore, apart from things that are used for public purposes such as street lights, electric power is not required for things that are used for private and personal purposes such as indoor lights and lighting for hallways and stairs. This was a waste of money and was not desirable.

In view of this, the present invention uses an infrared sensor to detect the presence or absence of a person or the approach of a person, in addition to detecting the surrounding brightness using a visible light sensor such as CDS, even at night. An energy-saving type of automatic light that is suitable for private and personal use by turning off the light when no one is present and turning on only when a person is present or approaching and truly requires illumination. It provides a light-off switch.

FIG. 1 shows an automatic on/off switch as an embodiment of the present invention, in which 1 is, for example, a Cds% PIN diode, P
The brightness of the surrounding area around the lighting lamp is detected using a visible light sensor such as an N diode or a phototransistor. The detection signal of this sensor 1 is amplified by a preamplifier 2 and applied to a comparator 3. A reference voltage 4 is applied to the other input terminal of the comparator 3, and the detection signal of the visible light sensor 1 is constantly compared. The voltage value of this reference voltage 4 can be changed freely, and by changing the voltage value, it is possible to adjust how dark the surroundings are to turn on the illumination lamp. The comparator 3 is configured to generate a comparison output when the ambient brightness matches the brightness corresponding to the voltage set as the reference voltage 4 or becomes lower than that.

5 is an infrared sensor such as a thermopile, a pyroelectric detector, or an infrared quantum device, which detects radiant energy from the human body. The detection signal of this amplifier 5 is amplified by a preamplifier 6 and applied to a comparator 7. A reference voltage 8 is applied to the other input terminal of the comparator 7, and the detection signal of the infrared sensor 5 is constantly compared. The voltage value of this reference voltage 8 can be changed freely,
Depending on the change number, it is possible to adjust when or in which range the person is present around the infrared sensor 5. The comparator 7 is designed to generate a comparison output when a person exists within a predetermined range corresponding to the voltage set as the reference voltage 8 or approaches the person.

9 is a logic circuit, for example, an AND circuit, which produces an output when both the comparators 3.7 are producing comparison outputs. Reference numeral 10 denotes an output circuit that is turned on or conductive by the output of the AND circuit 9, and is composed of, for example, a relay, a thyristor, a power transistor, a magnetic amplifier, etc. This output circuit 1o is inserted into a lighting circuit (not shown) for illumination lights such as fluorescent lights and white lights, and is designed to operate when the surrounding area is below a certain level of brightness and a person is within a predetermined range centered on the infrared sensor 5. The lighting circuit is activated and the illumination lamp is turned on only when the lamp is inside or approaches the lamp.

The visible light sensor 1 and the infrared sensor 5 are installed, for example, on the ceiling of the entrance as shown in FIG. The light can be turned on or off based on the detection result. Alternatively, although not shown, the visible light sensor and the infrared sensor may be provided on the stairs, and the stair light may be turned on or off based on the detection results of both sensors. In addition, both sensors are installed on office desks, etc.
It is also possible to automatically turn on and off the fluorescent light on the desk. In addition, the output circuit 11 from the preamplifier 2.6 in FIG.
1c12 in FIG. 3, and a sensor part 13 consisting of a visible light sensor 1 and an infrared sensor 5 is connected to the unit 12 by a connector 14. As shown in the figure, if the visible light sensor 1 and infrared sensor 5 are all housed in the unit 12', it is convenient because an appropriate number of sensors can be placed at the desired lighting. It is most convenient if the sensor part 13 consisting of the visible light sensor 1 and the infrared sensor 5 shown in Fig. a3 is mounted on the holder 18 shown in Fig. 5.

As explained above, according to the automatic light on/off switch according to the present invention, it is possible to detect not only the surrounding brightness but also the presence or absence of a person or the approach of a person, and turn on/off the illumination light based on the results of both detections. Because of this, there is no wasted power consumption, and therefore it is extremely useful for private or personal lighting such as lighting at the entrance of a house, the interior of a house, each room in a company, an office, and even an office desk. It is something.
