Conventionally, a handle 1 is connected to a female connector 1 as shown in FIG.
7, the cam 18 of the handle 17 pushes and moves the drive plate 15, and the numerous through holes 16 provided in the drive plate 15 are moved.
The drive plate 15 presses and displaces the contacts 12 inserted into the housing 11 and inserted into the mating connector 2.
There is a connector that makes electrical connection by making contact with the pin terminal 21 of the connector.

There are two types of connectors: one is connected by inserting the pin terminal of the mating connector and then displacing the contacts, and the other is connecting by displacing the contacts, inserting the pin terminals of the mating connector, and releasing the displacement of the contacts. However, in either case, when inserting the pin terminal, there is no friction with the contact, and no force is required to insert the pin terminal, which is the so-called forceless insertion/extraction type.

However, this type of conventional connector has the disadvantage that since the operating handle is built in as a component of the connector, the external shape is large and the structure is complicated, which is particularly inconvenient for small-sized connectors.

The purpose of the present invention is to eliminate these drawbacks, to simplify the structure by eliminating the operating handle, and to enable the driving plate (referred to as the slider in the present invention) to be driven by applying an external force directly from outside the housing, making it compact and easy to handle. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a convenient connector with no insertion/extraction force.

In other words, the forceless insertion/extraction type connector according to the present invention has a plurality of rows of connectors planted in a housing, a plurality of sliders in which a number of comb-shaped walls that intersect with the contact rows are alternately combined and faced, and the slider Each comb-shaped wall holds one row of contacts in the contact row, and the sliders are housed in the housing so as to be slidable in the direction of the comb-shaped walls and biased away from each other, and are approached from the housing and the outside. The comb-shaped wall is provided with a recess that engages with the shoulder of the contact, so that the contact piece of the contact is displaced by the movement of the plurality of sliders.

As is clear from the above explanation, according to the present invention, the operation handle built into the conventional non-insertion/extraction type connector can be removed, so the structure is simple, and it is small and can be handled by simply using the finger. A convenient connector with no insertion/extraction force can be obtained, and its practical advantages will be great if applied to IC socket connectors, etc.

In addition, in the embodiment, a structure with two rows of contacts was described, but there is no problem in slightly increasing the number of rows, and it is also possible to change the design of each part based on the technical idea of the present invention, for example, by fixing one side of the slider and only changing the other. Needless to say, this includes changing the recess of the comb-shaped wall, the position of the return spring, the position of the eyebrows of the contact, etc.
