Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the quality of an image by such an arrangement wherein ink droplets not used for recording are discharged by the operation of an electrostriction or magnetostriction vibrator for preventing the formation of liquid droplet and only ink droplets used for recording are caused to jet out from a nozzle hole and the variation of ink droplets is lessened. CONSTITUTION:In a non-impact recorder, ink is supplied from an ink supply hole 20 at a pressure and an electrostriction or magnetostriction vibrator 21 for forming liquid droplets is vibrating a certain frequency. Consequently, when an electrostriction or magnetostriction vibrator 25 for preventing the formation of liquid droplet is not in operation, in other words, when pressurized ink is not discharged from an ink exit 27, multiple ink droplets are spouted out from a nozzle hole 24. Here, image recording signal is supplied to the vibrator 25 for preventing the formation of liquid droplet, and ink droplets not used for recording, before they are formed, are discharged from the exit 27 by causing the vibrator 25 to operate.

するため、ノズル3の配列を高密度化することが困難で
あった。また、高密度化を図るために、図示のような構
成も考えられているが、ノズル3にインクを導くための
流路4を曲げる必要があシ、その場合、流路4の形成は
、フォトエツチング等で容易に加工できるが、各流路の
流体抵抗がそれぞれ異なるため、各ノズルよシ均一なイ
ンク滴を噴出させることは極めて困難であった。また、
第2図に示したマルチ荷電偏、向型インクジェット記録
装置は、振動子10、振動板11、液室12、ノズルプ
レート13、荷電電極14、及び、偏向電極15等よ構
成るが、ノズルの前面に荷電電極、偏向電極等を配列す
る必要があり、構成が極線であった。
