Abstract

PURPOSE:To reproduce both information different from each other such as a picture and sound simultaneously without scanning a recording medium, by forming respective information recording layers on both faces of a substrate, which diffuses an incident light, to read both information by the diffused light from a light source. CONSTITUTION:Photosensitive materials are used to form recording layers 2 and 3 on both faces of a semitransparent and light diffusing substrate 1 (the diffused light is intensified by mixing fluorescent matters to improve the SN ratio), and the sound signal and the picture signal are recorded on layers 2 and 3 respectively by irradiation of the light. In this case, the light transmitted through photosensitive materials of one layer is diffused uniformly by the substrate 1 and has no influence upon information which is recorded on photosensitive materials of the other. As layers 2 and 3, films or the like where respective information are recorded may be stuck instead of photosensitive materials. An optical recording medium 4 obtained in this manner is irradiated with the light from a light source, and the reflected light from the layer 2 is focused on an optical sensor 10 through a half mirror 6 and a lens 9 to reproduce sounds, and pictures due to the diffused light to the layer 3 are projected onto a screen 8 through a lens 7 to reproduce pictures.

Generally, Eirin is accompanied by audio. In movies and television, if only images are displayed and no sound is produced, it is difficult to understand the contents of the images, and one's interest in the displayed images is halved. Therefore, in movies, images and audio signals are recorded on the same film and played back at the same time so that the audio can be heard while displaying the image lines. Also, in televisions, image signals and audio signals are recorded on the same film. However, the images used in movies and television are moving images, and the audio signal is also related to the content of the moving image. Therefore, it is only necessary to sequentially record and reproduce the image signals as well as the audio signals accompanying them.

However, when recording and reproducing one image and the audio accompanying it, it is not possible to do the same as in the case of movie theaters and television as described above. In other words, one image is 1724 seconds of information in a movie, and 1/1 second in a TV.
The information is for 60 seconds, whereas the audio explaining this one image is information for a sufficiently long time, from several seconds to several tens of seconds, or longer. When recording images and audio signals with widely different periods like this, it is necessary to be able to record both signals efficiently and to easily reproduce both signals. Regarding the audio that explains the content of the video, conventionally, the audio signal was recorded on a tape recorder, and each time a slide was projected, the tape recorder was operated to reproduce the audio signal corresponding to the projected image. In other words, images and sounds were recorded on separate recording media, and these recording media were played back at the same time.

However, this method requires a means to synchronize the playback operations of the two recording media, making the configuration complicated9, and requires careful storage of the recording media0.Otherwise, the image The audio recording medium is scattered, and when I try to play it back, I have a hard time finding it.

Therefore, it has become convenient to record images and sounds on the same recording medium, and various technologies have been developed for this purpose. The other side is used as a magnetic layer to magnetically record audio signals. Images can be read out optically, but audio signals are one-dimensional electrical signals that are recorded on a spiral magnetic track and played back.

It is true that this prior art is convenient because images and audio are recorded on the same recording medium, but on the other hand, the sheet is square or rectangular in order to record images.
Since a spiral magnetic track is formed therein, there is a problem in the utilization rate of the recording medium, and furthermore, a means for rotating the magnetic head is required, making the structure complicated.

In order to achieve this objective, the present invention uses a light diffusing material as a substrate of a recording medium, diffuses light incident on the material, and uses this diffused light to simultaneously reproduce information recorded on both sides of the recording medium. In this way, the scanning of the recording medium for reproduction is carried out in a manner that is characteristic of the main points.

In the figure, recording layers 2 and 3 are provided on both sides of a substrate 1, and different information, such as images and sounds, is recorded on each layer. The substrate 1 has the property of diffusing incident light and emitting the diffused light from both sides. Therefore, the diffused light emitted from the substrate 1 illuminates the recording layers 2.5 on both sides thereof, and the information recorded on each can be reproduced.

A photosensitive material is used as the recording layer 2.3, and information is recorded by irradiating each layer with light modulated with information. At this time, the light transmitted through the photosensitive material is diffused by the substrate 1 and becomes uniform light, so that it does not affect information recorded on other photosensitive materials. The recording layer 2.3 may be made of thin paper, plastic, film, or the like on which information is recorded by printing or the like, attached to a photosensitive material. The substrate 1 may be made of any semitransparent material.

In FIGS. 1 and 2, light from a light source 5 passes through a half mirror 6 and irradiates the optical recording medium 4. In FIG. This light passes through one recording layer 2 of the recording medium 4 and is diffused by the substrate 1. A part of the diffused light is emitted in the direction of the light source 5, is modulated by the information recorded there as it passes through the recording layer 2, is reflected by the half mirror 6, and is reflected by the lens 9 onto the optical sensor 10. If audio information is recorded in the recording layer 2, the optical sensor 10 reproduces it, and if digital information is recorded, a dot sensor matrix is placed at the position of the optical sensor 10.
