Abstract

PURPOSE:To save a die material cost and a molding cost by forming a cavity portion which mounts a core for molding a joint of a T-shaped leg in a replaceable state. CONSTITUTION:A common cavity 2 and common cores 3, 3 are commonly used irrespective of the type of a joint in an injection molding die of a plastic T- shaped tube joint. A core 30 is intrinsic for the type of the joint to mold the joint part of a T-shaped leg, and a cavity portion 20 is for mounting the core 30 in a replaceable state. Accordingly, the core for molding the joint part of the leg and the cavity portion may be manufactured in accordance with the type of the joint, but the other core and the cavity may be commonly used irrespective of the type of the joint, thereby sufficiently saving the die material cost and the molding cost.

Plastic T-shaped pipe joints are used to connect branch pipes to straight pipes, but branch pipes can be connected in a variety of ways, such as by flanges, screws, rubber rings, or adhesives. Therefore, various types of T-shaped pipe joints are required, with the joint portion of the T-shaped leg having flanges, screw grooves, grooves for attaching rubber rings, or tapered joints.

However, conventionally, molds have been manufactured for each of the above-mentioned types of T-shaped pipe joints, which is disadvantageous because the mold material costs and processing costs are high.
