Abstract

PURPOSE:To rigidly connect tapes without local increase of the thickness of the tapes by exfoliating and removing the kraft sheets at the ends of bot tapes to be bonded, butting the ends of the tapes, contacting and bonding a connecting plastic film to the portion to be removed. CONSTITUTION:Kraft sheets 3, 3' of one sides of one ends 4, 4' of composite tapes 1, 1' are exfoliated and removed to expose the one sides of plastic films 2, 2', both the films 2, 2' are butted, a bonding plastic film 5 is contacted to one side of the butted part, and the butted surfaces are bonded with an adhesive 6. Since the films can be connected almost without an increase in the thickness of the connected part, the films can be rigidly connected. When the tapes are thick and require strong connecting strength, it is preferable to exfoliate and remove the sheets 3, 3' at both side surfaces and to employ a method of bonding connecting films 5, 5' at both side surfaces.

[Detailed description of the invention] The present invention is used by being wound on the conductor of an electric cable.
A composite insulating tape made by laminating and integrating kraft paper on both sides of a plastic film is connected in the form of a base paper roll (width 200 to 1500 tries) before slitting, or in the form of a slit tape while being rolled by a paper winding machine. It's about how to do it.

Composite insulating tapes (hereinafter simply referred to as composite tapes) that have been put into practical use in recent years include, for example, polypropylene (PP), polymethylbentene (PMP), polyethylene (PE), etc., on both sides of a melt-extruded plastic film. There are tapes on which paper is arranged, or tapes made of plastic films such as fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) and kraft paper on both sides bonded by heat and pressure.

In order to connect all of these composite tapes to each other, conventional methods have been used as shown in FIG. In the figure, 11.11 is a composite tape to be connected, which is made by laminating kraft paper 13 on both sides of a plastic film 12. Connection is made with composite tape +1. Match the terminals of I+ and apply a thin film (20-100 μm) on both sides of the mating part.

However, in this method, since the connection kraft paper 14 is attached to the outside of the connection part, this part becomes locally thick and tends to cause local discontinuities in the power cable after the conductor is wound. Also, if it becomes locally thick, that part becomes locally hard, and when it passes through all the various rollers just before being wound on the conductor, it cannot follow the radius of curvature of the rollers, and the connection kraft paper 14 at the connection part The disadvantage is that the tape is easily cut, causing the tape to break.

In addition, when connecting the above-mentioned base paper rolls, the thin kraft paper 14 is generally adhered to the outside of the connection part using a natural water-soluble adhesive, so the bonding agent is not the same as the connection kraft paper. The connecting kraft paper 14 may bleed through the entire 14, and the kraft paper of the composite tape on the outer layer or the inner layer may stick to the kraft paper 14 for connection. In particular, as a countermeasure against swelling of composite tape in oil, when using the composite tape by moistening it with kraft paper and moistening it as known in Japanese Patent Publication No. 52-38237, even if the adhesive dries initially, Even if it is 1
Over time, it absorbs moisture and softens, and eventually oozes through the connecting kraft paper 14'ff: to the immediate outer layer or inner layer, and as mentioned above, the connecting kraft paper is the kraft paper of the composite tape in the outer layer or the inner layer. Sometimes I get stuck.

If the paper sticks as described above, when the conductor is started to be wound with a paper winding machine, the kraft paper of the outer layer or the inner layer of the composite tape will be peeled off starting from the stuck point, and it will no longer look like a composite tape. There is a risk of losing it.

(a) The method shown in the figure involves peeling off and removing the kraft paper 3.3"i on one side of the end portions 4.4' of each of the composite tapes 1 and 1' to fully expose one side of the plastic film 2.2'. After the plastic films 2.2' on both sides are brought together, a connecting plastic film 5 is applied to one side of the joined part, and the joined surfaces are pasted together with an adhesive 6.This first composite tape l, Kraft paper 3.3 from 1'
``!z When peeling off, this operation is easy because the adhesive strength between the kraft paper 3 or 3' and the plastic film 2 or 2' is such that it can be peeled off with a spatula.

Further, in order to prevent the adhesive 6 from overflowing from the overlapping surface of the connecting glass film 5, it is preferable to apply it to a portion slightly shorter than the length of the connecting glass film 5, and to leave a small portion at both ends. As the adhesive 6, for example, natural water-soluble rubber glue, starch glue, etc. are preferable because they do not completely deteriorate the electrical properties after being immersed in oil, are inexpensive, and are easy to handle. Connection plastic film 5
Alternatively, a separately prepared film such as PP, PE, PMP, FEP, etc. or a film obtained by removing the kraft paper from the composite tape may be used, but the latter is more convenient.

Next, if there is a possibility that the adhesive 6 may leak outward from the abutting portions of the glass films 2, 2' and the kraft paper 3, 3', use the structure shown in (B) figure. Just do it. (B) In the figure, when processing the end portions 4.4"i of the composite tapes 1 and 1', one tape L is made the longest, leaving the kraft paper 3 on one side, and the plastic film 2 and the kraft paper on the other side. Shortly repeat step 3, remove the kraft paper 3', 3"i from both sides of the tape, and then attach the plastic film 2.2"!r to the bonding surface of the connecting plastic film 5. Make sure that the mating surface on the opposite side is covered with a long piece of kraft paper 3.

In this way, the adhesive 6 can be applied to the plastic film 2.
.. Even if rice leaks from the abutting part of 2', there is no risk of it bleeding to the outside due to the kraft paper 3, and as with the method shown in Figure (a), there is no increase in the thickness of the connection part and the connection is strong. Here, kraft paper 4 is attached to composite tape 1. It is preferable to position it on the inside when winding it up into a l'i roll, since it will not spring up.
