Abstract

PURPOSE:To lessen longitudinal acceleration produced in a flywheel as well as to lower clutching noises, by coupling a crankshaft with the fly-wheel of a car engine with universal joints such as pin joints, etc. CONSTITUTION:A flywheel 4 and a clutch disc both are installed on a crank- shaft end 1 of engine. Clearance between bosses 5 and 6 to be set to the flywheel 4 and the crankshaft 1 is to be provided. With this, rotation between chains 2 and 3 attached to both the crankshaft 1 and the flywheel 4 is made easier. Bending deformation of the crankshaft 1 is not transmitted to the flywheel 4 thanks to these chains 2 and 3 which consist of a pin joint coupling in structure. Like this, the longitudinal acceleration of the flywheel 4 can be lessened and thereby a lowering of clutching noises is attainable.
