Abstract

PURPOSE:To shape a roll to be ground to an arbitrary roll crown easily and with high accuracy by varying the pressing force to the roll to be ground by curving the pressing surface of a contact roll, in the rolling grinding of the roll to be ground. CONSTITUTION:The roll to be ground is ground by a roll grinding apparatus as follows: A table 11 is transferred to a roll 10 to be ground by a feed mechanism 12, and a rolling grinding belt 9 is brought into contact with the roll 10. At this time, a contact roll which presses the belt 9 onto the roll 10 is curved by bending apparatuses 2a and 2b. Since said roll is curved outward, the pressing force for the roll 10 is large at the both edges and small at the center part. Therefore, the amount of cut to the roll 10 is shallow at the center and deep in the vicinity of the edges. According to the above method, the roll 10 can be shaped to an arbitrary roll crown easily and with high accuracy.

したまま修正研削するオンライン研削法が下記のように
考案されている。

に必要になる。更に研削中は砥石研削面が常にロールと
接触しているためドレッシングができず、ドレッシング
するには研削を中断して、砥石をドレッシング可能な位
置まで移動させなければならないため、研削能率が低い

、本方式ではロールに対して狭幅の砥石を四−ル軸方向
に移動させて研削するため、所定のロール精度を得るに
はかなシ正確表砥石送シ機構が必要になるが、熱間圧延
機においては熱変形及び振動面の障害があるためこのよ
うな砥石送シ機構の実現は難しく、従って不十分なロー
ル精度しか得られない。

央部が膨らんだ形状のりタルを研削できないので、汎用
性に乏しかった。

とを特徴とする。

べき輪郭に沿って湾曲させながら被研削ロールに押し付
けて研削する。例えば、コンタクトロール両端部に加え
る押圧力を大きくして、該コンタクト日−ルを外側に湾
曲させると、これに伴い該被研削ロールは中央部になる
につれ小さな研削圧力しか受けず大径に研削され、該研
削ロールはタル型に成形されるのである。このように本
発明ではコンタクトロールを湾曲させ、その湾曲量を調
整することによシ任意のロールクラウンを被研削ロール
1て形成することができる。

ル10に対して平行に設けられておシ、回転自在にシャ
ツ)3に軸着されている。該コンタクトロール4は軸方
向に複数個に分割されており、又これらとの間にクリア
ランスを設けてシャフト3が貫通しているため、該シャ
フト3及びコンタクトロール4は容易に湾曲することが
でき、湾曲されてもスムーズに回転する。
