Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent duplicate reading using a simple mechanism, by comparing previously read bar code with subsequently read bar code and if they coincide, annuling the subsequently read bar code. CONSTITUTION:Previously read bar code data are stored in a secondary buffer 12. Subsequently read bar code data is supplied to a comparator section 13 through a primary buffer 11, and compared with previously read data. When they are different, subsequently read bar code data is transferred to a host computer. When they coincide, previously read bar code data is erased without transferring to the host computer.

st: hereinafter referred to as PO8) has become widely adopted. Electronic registers and stationary readers are used as terminals in POS systems. These terminals are installed at payment counters and are operated by store clerks and other operators to read barcodes printed on product labels. The product number, product name, product price, etc. are included in the 0 barcode. When the barcode is read, the prices are sequentially displayed on the electronic register, and finally the total price is displayed by pressing a button.

(d) Purpose of the Invention The purpose of the present invention is to solve the above-mentioned drawbacks, and to provide a reading device which has a simple mechanism and can prevent double reading. A comparison section is provided to compare the read barcodes, and the comparison section compares the previously read (-) code with the barcode read later, and when they match, invalidates the barcode read later. Embodiment of the Invention Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. 4, Q-th φ width.

In FIG. 4, 11 is a primary buffer, 12 is a secondary buffer, 13 is a comparison section, and the primary buffer 11 is a bar from the recognition section 3 that has been read within a predetermined time since the previous reading. It has a function of temporarily holding the code data and sending the barcode data to the secondary buffer 12 and comparison section 13 according to the command from the control section 14. The secondary buffer 12 holds the barcode data from the primary barcode 11 for a predetermined period of time, and erases it under the control of the control unit 14 after the predetermined period of time has elapsed.
It also has a function of sending the code data to the comparator 13 within a predetermined period of time according to a command from the control section 14. The comparison unit 13 compares the primary buffer 11 with the command from the control # unit 14.
It has a function of comparing the barcode data sent from the secondary buffer 12 and the barcode data sent from the secondary buffer 12, and sending the result of whether or not both data match to the control unit 14. The control section 14 controls each section and, based on the comparison result sent from the comparison section 13, instructs the recognition section 3 as to whether or not to send host combinator heparcode data (not shown). 0 and the transparent m-cleft sensor 9 on the top surface of the reader 1. l
O and the shutter mechanism on the front of the optical unit 2 have been removed.

With such a configuration and function, when reading the barcode of the product 8, when the power is turned on to the reading device 1, a laser beam is constantly emitted from the optical unit 2, and the product 8 is placed in the reading window 4. Reading is performed by passing the light above.

At this time, in FIG. 4, the previously read barcode data is stored in the secondary buffer 12, and the next read barcode data is passed through the primary buffer 11 and combined with the previously read barcode data. Comparison unit 13 compares the data, and if there is a difference, the data is transferred to the host computer. Then, it is displayed on an electronic register (not shown). If the compared barcode data is a code, the next barcode read is Code data is erased without being transferred to the host converter.

In this way, by omitting the transmission area centers 9 and 10 and the shutter mechanism, it is possible to read the product 8 when it passes from any direction, but it is also easy to be read twice when the product 8 is operated. 2Ji reading can be prevented by comparing the barcode data read before and after.

(g) As described in detail, according to the present invention, not only is the cost improved because a permeated acid sensor and a shutter mechanism are not used, but there is also the effect of preventing double reading. The re-reading operation when the item cannot be read is unrelated to the direction of movement of the product, so it has the effect that it is only necessary to go back.
