Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent nonuniformization of toner density, by receiving an excess of developer after development once into one place exterior to the case of a developing machine, and then introducing again into the case. CONSTITUTION:An excess of developer after development is conveyed with an ejective screw conveyer 12 to a storage case 14, and temporarily stored there. Then, it is again conveyed with a feed screw conveyer 13 into the case 11 of the developing machine, while the carrier and the toner of the developer are uniformly mixed.

FIG. 1 conceptually shows a developing device in a conventional copying machine. In this developing machine, developer 2 in a developing machine case 1 is conveyed along a developing sleeve 4 disposed around a magnet 1 call 3 to a photoreceptor 5, and development is performed there. The developer 2a remaining after the image falls along the bottom 1a of the developer case 1 to the bud IL5, is mixed with the newly supplied toner 7 by the paddle 1!1', and is transferred to the magnet roll 3 again. J, the control sleeve 41 is conveyed to the photoreceptor 5.

The developer is not stirred sufficiently. Therefore, in conventional developing machines (F), when a large amount of 1-toner is consumed in a certain area, the amount of toner in the developer decreases in that area, resulting in a local density decrease and whitening on copy paper -F. If omission occurs and the 1-toner that has fallen through the toner replenishment roll 8 is not sufficiently mixed with the carrier and the developer is conveyed to the photoreceptor 5, the 1-toner will not be present on the copy paper. Even if there is a partial drop, a blackhead (high back) will occur.

In such a copying machine, the remaining developer after development is carried out on the photoreceptor 16 is scraped off from the developing sleeve 17 by the scraper 21, and moves along the lower surface of the scraper 21 in the direction of the arrow. The developer falls from the end of the scraper 21 to the intake port 12C (=I) of the discharge screw conveyor 12. It is transported into the storage case 14 by the screw 128 and the screw 18a of the auxiliary screw conveyor 18.

In this way, the remaining developer after development is conveyed to the storage case 1/1 by the discharge screw conveyor 12, stored in the storage case 14, and is conveyed again by the supply screw conveyor 13. The carrier is supplied into the developing machine case 11, during which the carrier and the toners 1 to 1 are uniformly mixed. In addition, when replenishing the developer from inside the developer case 11, remove the storage case 14 from the slurry 1-conveyor 12.13, the conveyance device 20, and the toner replenishment device, stop the toner replenishment device, and remove the developer from the screw conveyor. 12, 13 and the transport device 20, the developer can be collected at the location where the storage case 14 has been removed.

As described above, in the method of stirring the two-component developer in the developing machine according to the present invention, the remaining developer after development is temporarily stored in the storage cooler installed outside the developing machine case, and then it is developed again. 1 supplied in the machine case! Therefore, there is no unevenness in the amount of toner that falls in the depth direction inside the developing machine nozzle, and the developer can be easily replaced. Instead, install a developer discharge and supply device such as a screw conveyor (
), thus making it possible to downsize the developing machine.
