Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an easy-to-handle electric energy meter which is capable of easily and quickly capturing measuring conditions over the overall load range by flashing a plurality of operation displays sequentially at the speed proportional to the frequency of a pulse train from a voltage-frequency converter. CONSTITUTION:With the measuring operation of electric energy, a pulse train corresponding to the load from a voltage-frequency converter 24 is divided, inputted into a drive circuit 41 and counted sequentially with a counter circuit 411 in the drive circuit 41. A decoder circuit 412 receiving output from the counter circuit 411 causes displays 401-408 to flash sequentially for each counting action. In the case of a low load, eight displays are used and operation displays 401-408 are flashed sequentially at the cycle of 20/8sec thereby enabling a quick checking for the measuring conditions even in such a low load.

As power is supplied from the commercial power source (1) to the load (2), a voltage signal ev proportional to the load voltage on the distribution line (3) is applied to the voltage transformer (4), (5) at the voltage input terminal. Input to @υ and also current transformer (6)? As a result of (7), a voltage signal e1 proportional to the amount of current consumption flowing through the power distribution line (3) is input to the current input terminal. A multiplier (2) multiplies the voltage signal ev and the voltage signal el to obtain a voltage signal e, which is proportional to the instantaneous power in the distribution line (3). −ev・er (where K is a constant) is sent to the voltage/frequency conversion circuit (goods), and the voltage/frequency conversion circuit (goods) outputs a pulse train signal f0 with a frequency corresponding to the above signal e0. be done. This signal f0 is frequency-divided by a frequency divider and successively counted by a counter circuit. The counter output from the counter circuit (c) is input to the power/power display device η, so that the power consumption lid is displayed as an integrated value on the display device @η. During the above-mentioned measurement operation, the blinking indicator (c) which receives the output from the frequency divider (to) operates according to the voltage/frequency characteristic a shown in FIG. 3, and blinks to indicate that the measurement operation is in progress.

However, in the above configuration, it is necessary to rely on the blinking operation of one blinking indicator (c) and one light emitting diode to determine whether or not measurement is in progress, which makes it difficult to cope with high loads. When the high-frequency pulse train is output, the blinking cycle of the display 6281 becomes too short and becomes difficult to see visually. On the other hand, if the blinking of the display (c) is set to a level that is visible under this high load condition, When a low-frequency pulse train corresponding to a low load is output, the blinking period of the display (c) is too long, forcing the user to spend a long time checking the measurement operation at this low load.
