Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an image forming apparatus, such as electrophotographic copying machine or a recording apparatus, prevented from unexpectedly shutting of the opening of the main apparatus when an operator tries to remove jammed paper by putting in his hand through the opening. CONSTITUTION:An upper unit 3 is provided with a stay 12 rotatable around a shaft 13.
