Abstract

PURPOSE:To dry a photosensitive material which is completed of photographic processing with good finish quality by setting the drying temp. in a drying chamber so as to rise gradually from the inlet toward the outlet. CONSTITUTION:A deflection plate 19 which is so set as to flow drying air toward the neighborhood of an inlet is provided between the fan 17 and heater 16 in a drying chamber 1. The drying air is deflected to the inlet side by the plate 19 and is set at 30-35 deg.C near squeeze rolls 3, 3a, at around 45 deg.C in an intermediate part and at about 50-55 deg.C near discharge roll 11, 11a. The temp. gradient is provided to convey a film 12 gradually from the low temp. side to the high temp. side, whereby the transfer of the staine on the roll onto the emulsion surface and the stripping of the smulsion surface are prevented, and the film is dried with good finish quality.

For example, in a method of drying a photosensitive material in a camera processor, a film that has undergone photographic processing such as development, fixing, and water washing is continuously conveyed by rollers and film guide members installed in a drying chamber, and the emulsion of the film is It is well known to have grooves so that hot air is blown onto the surface side to dry the material and then the material is discharged onto a tray or the like. FIG. 2 is a front view of a film drying device in a conventional camera processor. OrN

At this time, hot air for drying generated by the fan 17 and the heater 16 passes through the wire-mesh opening 15. The film 12 is gradually dried by being blown onto the film 12, and is then conveyed to the discharge ports 11 and 11at via the rollers 6.7, 8.9 and 10 and the guide member 2, and then the discharge roller 11 and 11a to the tray 15.

In order to effectively dry the film, the lower rollers paired with the aforementioned rollers 6.7, 8.9.10 are removed to make it easier to blow warm air onto them. Instead, the aforementioned guide member 2 is provided to ensure stable pressing of the film 120.

Furthermore, in consideration of drying efficiency, it is desirable that the film 12 be dried in as short a time as possible, and for this reason, the guide member 2 described above is made of a member as thin as possible (for example, a wire) so that the warm air of each paper can be applied to the film 12. The sea urchins are well thought out.

In this case, the guide member 2 should be made of a material with a small angle of thermal conductivity, since the guide member 2 itself may generate heat and affect the film 12 depending on conditions such as the film conveyance speed and drying temperature. In addition, the length of the film 12 that can be passed through the drying path at this time must be equal to or greater than the distance between the axes of the squeeze rollers 5, 5a and the discharge rollers 11 and 11a.

However, in the conventional drying apparatus configured in this way, the drying temperature is usually within a range of about 50 U to 55 C, and is almost constant over the entire film transport path from the vicinity of the film inlet of the drying chamber 1 to the discharge section. This caused the following problems: That is, when the film 12 that has just been washed with water is conveyed into the drying chamber 1, the film 12 immediately comes into contact with the squeeze rollers 5.5a, 4.4a, and 5-5a whose surfaces are in a high temperature state. There is a drawback that the finished quality of the film 12 is deteriorated because dirt is transferred to the film 12, especially to the emulsion side, or the film 12 adheres to the squeeze roller, causing peeling of the emulsion side. Further, when the above-mentioned adhesion is significant, the film 12 gets caught up in the squeeze roller 5.degree. 5a, etc., causing film clogging. In order to prevent such troubles, it is possible to reduce the spacing between the squeeze rollers or to cover the rollers with vertical Teflon or the like to prevent the film 12 from adhering. ,
The squeeze effect decreases, and it becomes a cost amplifier.
This is one of the few things that can overcome the two drawbacks.

That is, the present invention provides a method for drying a photosensitive material which has been subjected to photographic processing and is dried by applying warm air to the photosensitive material while the material is being conveyed by a squeeze roller and a grain feeding roller in a drying chamber. - It is an object of the present invention to provide a photosensitive phase drying method in which the drying temperature is set in the drying chamber so that the drying temperature gradually rises from near the inlet to near the exit.

以下1本発明な実施例に基き詳述する。The following is a detailed explanation based on one embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 6 is a front view of a film drying apparatus which is an embodiment of the present invention. In the figure, the same components as in FIGS. 1 and 2 described above are designated by the same reference numerals.

Of course, this drying device differs from the conventional drying device shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 in that it has a deflector installed between the fan 17 and the heater 16 so that the drying air flows toward the vicinity of the entrance of the drying chamber 10. Except for the plate 19, its structure is basically the same as the conventional one.

In this case, the deflection plate 19 deflects the air sent from the fan 17 toward the entrance side of the photosensitive material conveyance section, and the drying temperature near the squeeze roller filter 3a is, for example, about 50C to 55C. 45C near the middle of the conveyor section
50C to 55 near the ejection roller 11.1ia before and after.
It is set to approximately C. By creating a temperature gradient that gradually increases the temperature from the inlet 1111 of the film 12 in the drying chamber 1 to the exit side, the processed film 12 conveyed into the drying chamber 1 by the method described above is heated by the low-temperature roller. Since the receiver is gradually passed from the film 12 to the high-temperature roller, it is possible to prevent dirt from the squeeze rollers 5, 5a, etc. from being transferred to the emulsion surface of the film 12, or from peeling off the emulsion surface. In this case, the squeeze roller 5a is on the film emulsion side.

The scraper ξ19 that scrapes off dirt, etc. adhering to the squeeze surfaces of 4a and 5a is attached to the aforementioned roller roller a14.
If it is provided below a*5', the film finish will be further improved. In addition, since the emulsion surface of the film 12 is prevented from adhering to the rollers 5a, 4a, 5a, there is no need for the conventional method to involve the film 12, which is extremely effective for rolling.

The present invention has been described above with reference to one embodiment, but the present invention is not limited to the method of creating a drying temperature distribution by using the deflection plate 19 as in the above-mentioned sister embodiment, but also by changing the arrangement distribution of the heater 16 as appropriate. can be achieved. That is, as shown in FIG. 4, by arranging heaters i6a, 16b, and 16C having different capacities in descending order between the film transport section and the film transport section 717, If the heater capacity is small, the heater capacity near the outlet may be increased.
