Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the problem of silicosis and as well to make the sealability of a grand packing satisfactory, by using the fiber material which is made such that a paper-like member which is obtained by making natural or synthetic fibers fibrillated and by subjecting the fibers to a paper making process, is shredded into taped papers, and then the taped papers are twisted together for forming the above-mentioned fiber material. CONSTITUTION:A paper-like member 1 is made by beating fibers and by subjecting the same to a paper making process. This paper-like member 1 is shredded into long and narrow tapes which are then twisted. The thus twisted tapes, three in number, are further twisted together for obtaining combined and twisted yarns 3 which are then knitted together for finally producing a grand packing.

The fibers used may be of any type as long as they can be fibrillated, such as cellulose fibers such as cotton and hemp;
Examples include synthetic fibers such as polyacrylic tri/I/lh fibers and aromatic polyamide fibers.
