PURPOSE:To commonly use the interface lines for sending the data with regard to the presence or absence of a paper set to a control device, in the printer device which handles plural kinds of the papers, by selecting the sensor which is provided for every kind of the paper in correspondence with the paper specifying data from a control device. CONSTITUTION:The printer device 1 can perform printing of three kinds of single sheet papers 12, 13, and 14 having different sizes in addition to the continous paper 4. In order to detect whether each paper is set or not, photosensors 6, 15, 16, and 17 are provided. When the paper specifying data is transmitted to the printer device 1 from a printer control device 3 through an interface cable 2, an interface control part 30 makes a paper data selecting circuit 9 select the sensor corresponding to the paper specified by the received paper specifying data. The data (sensor output) as to whether the specified paper is set or not is sent to a paper data signal line 10 which is common to various papers through the selecting circuit 9.

サ手段の検出出力を選択し、その検出出力に関連した情
報を目゛11記のインタフェース信号線を通じてプリン
タ制御装置へ送信する手段が設けられる。
