Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a signal recorded by an auxiliary magnetic pole from falling into disorder, by setting the edges of the main magnetic pole and auxiliary magnetic pole of a magnetic head for vertical magnetic recording in nonparallel relation. CONSTITUTION:The vertical magnetic recording head consists of the main magnetic pole 21 made of a several mum thickness thin magnetic file and the auxiliary magnetic pole 22 which is provided in opposition to the main magnetic pole 21 and has the edge in nonparallel relation with the magnetic pole 21 and much greater sectional area than the magnetic pole 22. Consequently, a previously recorded signal never falls into disorder.

m以下の磁性i膜よシなる短冊型の主磁極1と、記録再
生コイル3を有する主磁極1よシはるかに大きな断面積
(例えば100倍以上)を持つ補助磁極2′とを対向さ
□せ、その間を記録媒体4を主磁極1に沿って移動し、
コイルに記録電流を流し七−気記録誉行ならいわゆる補
助磁極励磁型磁気ヘッドそあシ、艷録分解能、記録効率
的に優れていることも確認されている。しかしながら磁
気記録媒体4の両画を使用する場合の磁′気ヘッドにお
いては磁気記録媒体4の補助磁極側の面6にすでに信号
が記録されている場合に主磁極側の面5に新たに信号を
記録すると補助磁極側の面6の信号が補助磁極からの磁
束によって乱されるという問題がちシ信号記録上重大な
欠陥となる。特に上記現象は第2図に示す如く、主磁極
11のエツジと補助磁極12のエツジが平行である場合
顕著に現われる。
