Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the rigidity and to prevent off-track of a magnetic head at high density recording, by incorporating a carriage blcok and a magnet for a voice coil in one boby. CONSTITUTION:The carriage block 9A bearing a carriage 15 provided with a servo head arm 5, a data head arm 4 and a voice coil 8 is formed into an L- shape, a magnet 7 of a voice coil motor is set to the inside of the L-shaped block 9A, which is fixed on a side surface and a lower surface of the magnet 7 with screws 11. The block 9A is fixed to a base 16 together with a disc drive spindle. As a result, if a shock due to rapid acceleration and deceleration of the voice coil motor is generated at the positioning, the vifration of the block 9A in the direction of a disc 1 is prevented, and the track-off of the magnetic head 2 is prevented completely.

上させることができ、高密度記録を行う場合にも、磁気
ヘッドのオフトラックを防止可能としたヘッド位置決め
