Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain the connection to an exchange which transmits no inversion signal to a calling party at the response of a called station, by detecting a continuous specific frequency signal transmitted to the calling party at the response of the called station. CONSTITUTION:Independently that the exchange transmitting the inversion signal to the caller is used or not at the response of the called station, a frequency signal in a range of 300-3,400Hz is transmitted from the called party to a line coupling circuit 2 of the called party. This continuous frequency signal enters a data line 9 via the circuit 2 and is inputted to a response signal detection circuit 5, which detects the frequency signal in the range of 300-3,400Hz. When the response of the called station is confirmed at the circuit 5, the confirmation is informed to a sequence control section 6, which informs the connection of the line through an input/output control signal line 7 to a facsimile 8 for the purpose of facsimile communication succeedingly.

In conventional automatic dialing devices, a so-called office line reversal method that utilizes polarity reversal of a telephone line is used as a method for detecting a called station response b. For this reason, if a conventional automatic dialing device is connected to a private branch exchange or the like that does not send a polarity inversion signal to the calling party when the called station responds, it will not be possible to detect the called station's response. Therefore, when such a private branch exchange is used, a conventional automatic dialing device cannot be used.

It is an object of the present invention to eliminate the drawbacks of the prior art described above and to detect a valid response signal sent by the called side, so that the called side can wait for a response from the called side. To provide an automatic dialing device capable of connecting even to an exchange that does not send a polarity inversion signal.

When it is confirmed that there is no incoming call, the sequence control unit 6 closes the DC loop to the exchange. Subsequently, a selection signal such as a dial number is outputted from the dial signal generation circuit 4 under the control of the sequence control section 6. The cough selection signal is sent to the telephone line 1 via the ejection signal detection circuit 3 and the line coupling circuit 2.
