Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable inspection simultaneously during the automatic press-fit process by forming a closed circuit having an inspector utilizing a cable prior to disconnection thereof following the press-fit action of a connector operating with an automatic press-fit device for connector to check for the propriety of the press-fit condition before the entry into the subsequent press-fit process after the disconnection thereof. CONSTITUTION:The power source of an inspector is turned on to be ready for providing a specified indication upon the formation of a closed circuit. As the pressing-fit of a connector is ended with an automatic press-fit device, a pressing-fit means B leaves the press-fit position P and a terminal 91 moves to the position P, being inserted into a pressed-fit connector 2 to connect. When the press-fit condition is good, a closed circuit is formed and the signal, a cable cutting knife 95 is operated to cut a cable 1. Thus, one cable with a connector is completed. The criterion to determine whether the pressed-fit condition is good or not is set for the inspector with appropriate withstand voltage and insulability previously determined by not only conduction but also specifications.

Connect the connector to a flat lean cable (hereinafter referred to as the “cable”)
When press-connecting a connector to a cable, it is important to know whether the connector is securely electrically connected to the core wire of the cable, and whether the connector is press-connected in a state where the predetermined withstand voltage and insulation are sufficiently obtained.

Conventionally, in the case of pressure welding using automatic pressure welding equipment as well as non-automatic pressure welding equipment, the cable has been cut after the connector is pressed, and the continuity state has been tested using a separate tester. Therefore, separate equipment is required for pressure welding and inspection, and work efficiency is low.Furthermore, even if poor pressure welding occurs, it is often delayed in discovering it, resulting in a large number of defective weldings.

The connector pressure welding inspection device according to the present invention is used together with an automatic connector pressure welding device. Here, the automatic connector pressure welding device will be explained based on FIG. After paper feeding, the groove processing means B is moved in the negative direction of the Y axis by the position setting means and set at the above position P, and then the groove processing means B is moved.
With a pair of upper and lower cutting dies, the core can be cut with or without cutting the cable 1 as shown in Fig. 3 or 4. 11
The connection part 11 that connects the toe 12 of No. 3 is punched out and grooved, and finally, the pressing means 0 is moved in the Y-axis stopping direction by the above-mentioned detour and set to the above-mentioned position tP. After nine,
The upper arm of the hand RO supports the back of the connector from above and is placed on top of the grooved cable 1, and the cable is covered from below by the lower temperature! l! 12 is press-fitted into the groove of the connector to perform pressure connection. After completing the pressure welding of the connector, cut the cable at the rear of the connector.
This completes the cable 08E* process.

As a connector pressure welding inspection device for the above-mentioned automatic connector pressure welding device, the present invention includes a continuity tester 90 at one end of which is provided with a terminal 91 that connects to the connector 2 that is pressure welded to the cable 1, and at the other end of which the connector 2 is connected to the cable 1. The connector 2 is configured to include a contact 92 that is always in contact with the core wire 13 at the other end that is not press-connected. The terminal 91 is
After the connector is press-connected and before the cable is cut, it is moved to the press-contact position Pfi, and then it is press-connected and connected to the ninth connector 2.

To explain the embodiment shown in Fig. aI5, a cable 93 extends from one end of the continuity tester 9 and has a terminal 91 at its tip that connects to the connector 2 with a 1#4 thread, and the wrinkle tester 9 -:
- A contact 92 is provided at the end. The contact 92 is not directly connected to the core @13 at the other end of the long cable on the non-pressure contact side of the connector, but maintains contact via a sliding roll 94.

This is because the cable is wound into a roll and the core wire 13 at the other end of the cable 1 rotates. The surface of the sliding roll 940 has conductor parts 942 and non-conductor parts 941 arranged alternately, and the cable cores 1!13 have scissor conductor parts 9
42 in sequence. The contactor 92 is pressed against the conductor portion 942 of the sliding roll 94 by the force of the spring 922 from behind, so that the contactor 92 contacts the conductor portion 942 of the sliding roll 94
Even if the core 1113 is subjected to KM rotation together with the rolled cable 1, it is electrically connected to the core 1113 without any problem. Thus, when terminal 91 is connected to connector 2, cable 1
and the connector pressure contact inspection device will form a closed circuit.

The above-mentioned closed circuit is formed only after the terminal 91 is connected to the pressure contact connector 2, and therefore, as described above, the connection is made to the cape 1 after the connector pressure Ii. The terminal 91 is connected to the connector 2 by I! In order to
Although not specifically shown, the terminal 91 is set at a position P above the connector 2 after the connector is press-connected, either in conjunction with a position setting means or separately, and then lowered and inserted into the connector 2 for connection. It is held by means constructed as follows.

The test meter 9 is capable of testing not only continuity but also voltage resistance and insulation, and also serves to issue a signal to activate the cutting blade 95 that cuts the cable 1 after the test is completed.

inserted and connected to. If the pressure welding is done properly, the closed circuit will be formed, the test needle will issue a signal to this effect, and the cable cutting blade 95 will operate based on the crease signal to cut the cable 1. A cable with two connectors is completed. Here, the criterion for determining whether or not the pressure welding is good is not only the continuity but also the appropriate withstand voltage and insulation degree according to the specifications and set this in the test meter.

If the pressure connection is defective, the terminal 91 is connected to the connector 2.
In spite of the connection, the closed circuit is not formed, and the inspection meter 9 receives this and, for example, uses a buzzer or the like to notify the user of the poor pressure contact and stops the device.

As described above, the present invention operates in conjunction with an automatic pressure welding device for connectors, forms a closed circuit using a cough cable after pressure welding the connector and before cutting the cable, and arranges a test needle in the cough closed circuit to ensure a good test. Since the first pressure welding process begins after the cable is cut, it is possible to perform an inspection in the middle of the automatic pressure welding process, simplify the equipment related to pressure welding, and simplify the work. In addition, it has become possible to completely prevent the occurrence of cables with faulty connector pressure connections.
