Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need to attach a dedicated switch by providing a decision making circuit consisting of a monostable multivibrator, timer, and two- input NAND gate. CONSTITUTION:The decision making circuit 8 generates a signal for starting a constant-speed running device when a driver turns on or off a hot-wire switch 7. By the output of this switch 7, the monostable multivibrator 9 is triggered to generate a signal H for a specific time and the signal is sent to the timer 10 and two-input NAND gate 11. Consequently, the gate 11 received the output of the monostable multivibrator 9 and the output signal of the timer 10 to send a signal L to a controller 3. On receiving the signal L, the controller 9 starts operating the constant-speed running device to put an actuator 4 and a throttle valve 5 in operation. Thus, the decision making circuit consisting of the monostable multivibrator 9, timer 10, and gate 11 is provided to use the switch 7 as the set switch of the constant-speed running device.

Figure 1 is a block diagram of a conventional constant speed traveling device of this type.
In the figure, (1) is the set switch of the constant speed traveling device;
(21 is a vehicle speed sensor, (3) is a control device, (4) is an actuator, and +51 is a throttle valve that controls the engine output. In the figure, the vehicle speed sensor (21 is a control device that detects the speed of the vehicle and sends a vehicle speed signal Upon receiving the vehicle speed signal, the control device (3) memorizes the speed of the vehicle when the driver's power (set switch ill) is operated, and at the same time outputs a control signal that compares the memorized speed with the vehicle speed. Accordingly, each part was configured to open and close a throttle knob (51) to control engine output.

However, the conventional constant speed traveling device configured as described above has a drawback that it is difficult to install due to the large number of component parts. In particular, when installing the constant speed traveling device in a completed vehicle, there is a constraint that the set switch 11111 must be installed in a location that is easy for the driver to operate and without damaging the aesthetics.
