A diesel engine includes a throttle body that holds a needle valve in a nozzle body with the tip of the needle protruding from a nozzle hole, and injects fuel into an engine combustion chamber from a gap between the nozzle hole and the tip of the needle valve. In the fuel injection valve, a part of the nozzle hole side of the throttle body is formed to be slidable in the direction of the needle valve axis, and the sliding part is slidably displaced according to the magnitude of combustion pressure in the combustion chamber.
