Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a paint compsn. which makes it possible to conduct thick- wall coating, exhibits high thermal reflectance, has excellent heat resistance and durability, and is suitable for use in coating roofs, consisting of polybutene, aluminum flake, a hollow filler and a non-asbestos fiber. CONSTITUTION:A main film-forming material component consisting of 100pts.wt. (on a solid basis) polybutene (A) having a number-average MW of 500-50,000, 5-40pts.wt. aluminum flake (B) having a particle size of 1-100mu, 10-100pts.wt. hollow filler (C) having a particle size of 1-200mu such as phenol balloon and 1-70pts.wt. non-asbestos fiber (D) of 0.1-10mm. in length such as polyethylene fiber, and a solvent such as mineral spirit and optionally a plasticizer, aggregate, a rust-inhibiting pigment, etc. are blended together. EFFECT:This compsn. can be thick-coated in a thickness of 100-200mu by one coating, and gives a coating film which can follow change or expansion and contraction of roof cover due to heat so that it is not cracked.

In addition, although the latter can be painted in a thick film, the resulting paint film has a blackish, corroded appearance, and has problems in terms of film performance such as high heat absorption and poor insulation properties, as well as the production of asbestos fibers. It has been pointed out that it is dangerous as a cancerous substance, and there were also problems with the working environment.

The coating composition of the present invention can be coated in a thick film with one pore p,
In addition, the formed optical coating follows the thermal expansion, contraction, and deformation of the roofing material, so it does not cause cracks, etc.!It has a high specific heat reflectance, has excellent heat insulation properties, and is durable. In addition, a hollow material is used as a filler. Because of this, the specific gravity of the paint is lighter, and it has good coating workability and has no mildew.

As the polybutene used in the present invention, either hydrogenated or unhydrogenated polybutene can be used, and those having a number average molecular weight of 5oo-so and oθO are suitable. Note that if the number average molecular weight is too low, the viscosity will be low and the adhesiveness will be low. Conversely, if the number average molecular weight is too high, the viscosity will be high, so a large amount of solvent must be used to improve painting workability. In either case, it becomes impossible to achieve the desired thick film coating in one coat, which is not desirable.

However, in conventional asphalt-based paint compositions, aluminum flakes are used to improve heat reflectivity and give the paint film a silver color. However, the asphalt itself is black and has a high heat absorption rate. , A1. Compared to the Sphalud type, the above objective is achieved by just adding a small amount of expensive aluminum flake tubes, so it also has the advantage of lower coating costs.
