PURPOSE:To efficiently manufacture the expanded-type electrode plates by previously forming an ear part on a lead or lead-alloy band-shaped sheet before expanding work, thus preventing generation of punched scraps in case when the ear part is formed. CONSTITUTION:A lead or lead-alloy band-shaped sheet 11 having an ear pat 2 formed beforehand on casting is expanded by means of a cutter 4 and an expander 5, and a continuous lattice body 6 is formed, and said lattice body 6 is filled with active substance 6 in a kneading and coating machine 7, and then cut to a prescribed dimension by a cutter 9, subsequently, allowed to pass through a flash drive 11 and dried, and thus a unit electrode plate 10 having the ear part 2 shown in the figure can be obtained.

ッター、11はフラッシュドライヤーである。
