Abstract

PURPOSE:An easily and economically obtainable magnetic pressure-sensitive adhesive tape for paper splice capable of using directly an existing production unit for a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape for paper splice, obtained by applying a water-soluble pressure-sensitive adhesive blended with particles of magnetic material to the face of a paper base to enable repulping. CONSTITUTION:One side or both sides of the base 1 of repulpable paper such as tissue paper, etc. are coated with the water-soluble pressfure-sensitive adhesive 2 e.g., a (co)polymer of a vinyl resin of acrylic acid (ester or amide), itaconic acid, etc. blended with particles of magnetic material such as ferrite powder, and, if necessary, the releasing material 3 is laminated to the adhesive layer, to give the desired magnetic pressure-sensitive adhesive tape. The tape is applied to the splice part of paper, and magnetism is perceived by using a magnetism detector, etc., to detect the splice part. EFFECT:The splice part in the inside of piled raw films can be detected easily and securely.

However, in general, if splice parts are mixed into a product, the product value will be significantly impaired, so inspection and removal work is done to remove the splice parts before packaging the product. Conventionally, it is possible to repulp the base material. Adhesive tapes for paper splicing using paper include (&) those coated with a water-soluble adhesive on one or both sides of the base material, (b) those described in (&) above that are colored in a dark color, etc. There was also a method for detecting splices in paper: (C)
A method of detecting adhesive tape for paper splicing as described in (&) or (b) above by visual inspection or inspection using a phototube; In order to make the splice parts inside the stack visible from the outside, there was a method of attaching a separate mark and detecting this mark by visual inspection or inspection using a phototube.

However, in the detection method described in item (e) above, when a large number of raw sheets are piled up and cut into a predetermined size while stacked, as in the processing of tissue paper, and then the spliced portion is detected. It was difficult to accurately identify the splice parts inside the stacked raw fabrics. In this case, as a measure to prevent the splice portion from getting mixed into the product, all of the original fabric was removed in an area where it was suspected that the splice portion might exist.

In addition, the detection method described in item (d) above is labor intensive and time-consuming.Furthermore, the visual inspection method has problems such as oversights, the need for the inspector's labor, and eye fatigue for the inspector. Even with testing methods that use paper splicing tape, there is a problem in that detection failures frequently occur due to the paper splicing adhesive tape or the above-mentioned marks being accidentally covered with other paper.

In addition, the removed splice portion is repulped and used as a raw material for fabric production, but in this case, the base material is paper that can be repulped, and a water-soluble adhesive is applied to the base material. The coated adhesive tape for paper splicing completely dissolves and can be supplied to the repulping process all at once without separating it from the original fabric. The magnetic powder used in the magnetic adhesive tape of the present invention is
Although it does not dissolve in the repulping process, the amount is small and can be ignored in the fabrication process, so the removed splice portion can be fed to the repulping process in bulk, just like conventional adhesive tape for paper splicing. On the other hand, recording tape uses plastic film as its base material.

If magnetic adhesive tape coated with a water-soluble adhesive is used as a paper strip, the value will be lower.
The magnetic adhesive used in the present invention is not only high quality but also undesirable because the plastic film of the base material does not dissolve and remains as a foreign material in the repulping process, which requires separation work between the raw material and the magnetic adhesive tape. As the base material for the tape, any paper that can be repulped can be used, such as tissue paper (thin paper).

After uniformly dispersing the above-mentioned magnetic powder in the water-soluble adhesive as described above by the usual cross-fertilization method, the composition is applied to one or both sides of the above-mentioned base material, and if necessary, a release material is laminated. By this, the magnetic adhesive tape for paper splicing of the present invention can be obtained. The splice portion can be detected by attaching the magnetic adhesive tape for paper splicing to the splice portion of paper and sensing the magnetism with a magnetic detector such as the one described above.

Thus, when a splice part exists inside stacked originals, the splice part could not be easily and accurately detected using conventional adhesive tape for paper splicing and conventional detection methods, but the present invention can detect the splice part easily and accurately. This became possible.
