Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a titled air purifier which is improved in the efficiency of separating paint mists, by disposing horizontal or approximately horizontal colliding surfaces in plural upper and lower stages in the downward flow passage for air contg. paint mists so as to force the water for purification to flow down from the ends on the side opposite to the separating end of the air flow to the colliding surfaces in the next stages in the respective stages. CONSTITUTION:A body 10 to be painted, such as an automotive body, placed on a carriage 11 is disposed on a grating floor 9 in a painting booth 7. The air contg. paint mists after painting of the body 10 is guided downward along guide plates 20, 20 in a flow passage 19. The air contg. said mists is fed to the lower parts of the bottom ends 21, 21 of the plates 5 and is further fed together with water 12 for purification from the ends opposite to the separating ends for the air flow to the colliding plates 5 in the next stages in the plural upper and lower stages. During this time, the air flow is separated from the mists at the separating ends on the outer side of plates 6, to separate the mists together with the water W for purification. The mists are streamed downward into a discharge groove 17, from which the mists are discharged.

A horizontal or nearly horizontal collision occurs in the flow path of the bottle mist-containing air circulating downward. There are several stages, each stage and the separating end of the air flow are arranged upside down to allow purifying water kfiF to flow from the opposite end to the next impingement surface.
