Claims

[Scope of utility model registration request]

A tape cassette having a rotatable opening/closing lid that covers the front surface of a tape drawer opening, and a rotatable lock lever that is rotatably energized by a biasing means to lock the opening/closing lid in a closed state. By installing this tape cassette into the recording/reproducing device using the cassette, the locking lever is rotated from the locked position to the unlocked position against the urging means to unlock the opening/closing lid. Subsequently, in a tape cassette lid opening device configured to open the opening by rotating the opening/closing lid from a closed lid position to an open lid position, the tape cassette is attached to the recording/reproducing device, thereby causing the above-mentioned operation. The lock lever is brought into relative contact with the lock lever and rotated from the partially locked position to the unlocked position against the biasing means, and then the lock lever is rotated from the partially locked position to the unlocked position by the subsequent tape cassette mounting operation.
