Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain double-layered glass having superior impact resistance and high safety and causing no scattering even when the glass is broken, by press- bonding a polycarbonate resin film to at least one side of an inorg. glass blank under heating with a hot melt adhesive in-between. CONSTITUTION:An org. colored printed layer is optionaly formed on one side of an inorg. glass blank 1 by screen printing or other method, and a polycarbonate resin film 2 is presss-bonded to at least one side of the blank 1 under heating with a hot melt adhesive 3 in-between. Thus, the safety of the inorg. glass can be improved without increasing the thickness.

Conventional inorganic glass is susceptible to impact, so its usage is limited and requires great care when handling. Attempts have been made to increase the thickness of the glass or insert a wire mesh inside the glass to make it more impact resistant, but this increases the cost and also prevents safety due to the scattering of fragments when the glass breaks. It had the disadvantage of lacking in sex.

The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned drawbacks of the conventional glass, and it is an object of the present invention to provide double-glazed glass that has excellent impact resistance and is highly safe because it does not scatter even if the glass is broken. The present invention will be described in detail below along with examples.

As shown in the drawings, the double-glazed glass of the present invention is made by thermally pressing a polycarbonate resin film 2 onto at least one side of an inorganic glass 1 via a hot melt adhesive 3.

Further, an organic colored printed layer (not shown) is provided in advance on one side of the inorganic glass 1 by screen printing or the like.
The polycarbonate resin film 2 may be thermocompression bonded to the upper surface, and various designs can be freely expressed. In this case, the organic colored layer tends to crack or peel due to the difference in temperature behavior from the inorganic glass 1, but the polycarbonate resin film 2 suppresses this movement, resulting in excellent weather resistance. In addition, since the colored printed layer is protected by the inorganic glass 1 and the polycarbonate resin film 2, it will not be scratched.
It does not spoil the beauty.

As described above, the double-glazed glass of the present invention has a polycarbonate resin film bonded to at least one side of an inorganic glass material by thermocompression using a hot melt adhesive. This has the advantage that safety is improved without increasing the thickness of the inorganic glass, and safety is further improved because the inorganic glass does not scatter even if it is broken by impact.
