In a conveying device for a plate-shaped object, in which the primary side of a linear motor is a conveying table and the secondary side is a conveying plate-like body, the linear motor is housed in the conveying table or has multiple narrow slits between each primary side iron core of the near motor. The transport table itself above the linear motor is made of a non-magnetic material, and the transport table surface above the linear motor is provided with a plurality of nozzles corresponding to the slit between the primary cores of the linear motor. A plurality of nozzles are also provided on the entire surface, and the linear motor upper nozzle and table side nozzle communicate with a high-pressure air source via an air duct, and blow compressed air from the high-pressure air source onto the conveying plate.
