Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain always a finest copy with either of a silver salt film and a diazo film, by providing a photosensor which detects the optical information in the punched part of an aperture card and a controller which discriminates whether a silver salt film or a diazo film on receiving the output thereof and sets the copying conditions suited for the film. CONSTITUTION:An aperture card 12 is provided with punch holes 20 for identification purposes in the circumference of a film part 14, more preferably in the peripheral part of the card 12 and the circumference of the film part as shown in the figure. In the embodiment shown in the figure, silver salt type and diazo type are discriminated from the presence or absence of the punched holes. A photosensor 20, such as a phototransistor, is disposed in the part of a card bed 10 where the holes 20 are located when the card 12 is set correctly. The output thereof is fed to a detecting circuit 22. A control circuit 24 which receives the output of the circuit 22 controls the supply voltage or current or both thereof to a lamp so as to control the quantity of the light to be emitted by, for example, a light source, according to the kinds of films.

Therefore, the operator determines whether the microfilm is a silver halide type or a diazo type, and then manually operates the light intensity selector switch on the light source so that the light source outputs the appropriate amount of light for the film, for example, to obtain the optimal copy. When copying using such a microfilm copying machine, if the number of aperture cards is small or the silver halide film and diazo film are separated,
Fi, it is almost impossible for an operator to make a mistake in operating the light intensity changeover switch, and copy mistakes will not occur. However, when copying from a large number of aperture cards containing a mixture of silver halide film and diazo film, it is a considerable burden for the operator to distinguish between the silver halide type and the diazo type. Not only is it quite a complicated task to operate the light amount selection switch for each card, but it is also likely that a mistake in the identification and switch operation will result in defective copies being made.

Therefore, the present invention provides a microfilm copying machine that is free from such discrimination work, switch operations, and problems of discrimination and operation errors, and is capable of making optimal copies of both silver halide film and diazo film. That is.

As a method to delay this purpose, identification information for distinguishing between silver halide film and diazo film is attached to the aperture card in advance, and when the card is set to make a copy, the identification information is attached to the aperture card in advance. It is conceivable to automatically operate the wash amount changeover switch in accordance with the first type of reading and film, or to create a state m equivalent to the operation of the light amount changeover switch. In this case, the identification information is
Possible examples include mechanical elements such as notches, magnetic elements such as magnetic marks, and optical elements such as perforations and reflective surfaces. However, it is not possible to provide a mechanical detection means to detect the notch.

This is not preferable because it complicates the card bed or the mechanical parts around it. Further, it is not preferable to attach magnetic marks to cards because it increases the price of the cards themselves. Furthermore, if we consider the case where reflective identification information is attached, since the aperture card is illuminated by strong light #l for a period of time, it would be difficult to attach such reflective identification information to the light source of the aperture card. It is difficult to detect the reflection separately from the reflection on the film surface, and since the entire surface of the opposite side of the card from the light source is placed on the card bed, it is difficult to illuminate and detect it.

Therefore, if identification information such as perforation or punched holes is provided on the aperture card, the presence or absence and number of punched holes can be detected using the light source for film illumination. It is convenient because there is no need to provide a separate light source. Furthermore, since the aperture card is simply punched at the required location, the price of the card itself hardly increases.

Therefore, according to the present invention, when an aperture card with punched identification information between a silver halide film and a diazo film is placed on a card bed, an optical sensor/sensor that detects optical information on the punched portion of the aperture card is provided. A microfilm copying machine is provided, which includes a controller that receives the output of the sensor, determines whether it is a silver halide film or a diazo film, and sets copying conditions for the film.

In the card bed 10, a light sensor 120 such as a phototransmitter is arranged at the part where the edge hole 20 is located when the aperture card 12 is correctly set, and its output is sent to the detection circuit 22. The control circuit 24 receives the output from the detection circuit 22, and the control circuit 24 receives the output from the detection circuit 22.
For example, the supply voltage and/or current to the lamp may be controlled to control the light emission 1' of the light source.

When using a diazo film, punch holes 18 are provided, and when an aperture card made of silver halide film is set on the card bed, the optical sensor 20 is covered by the aperture card, so it does not detect light. The circuit 22I/i outputs a non-side output signal, and the control circuit 24F
i. The amount of light emitted by the light source 16 is controlled so that the film is irradiated with light suitable for silver halide film. Furthermore, when the diazo film aperture card is set on the card bed, the light from the light source 16 passes through the punched hole 18 and also enters the optical sensor 20, and then the detection circuit connected to the sensor 20. 22 outputs a detection signal, and a control circuit 24 controls the amount of light emitted from the Kjt source 16 so that the amount of light suitable for the diazo film is applied to the film.

In addition, when determining the position of the punch hole, there are two positions: one where the punch hole indicating % silver salt film is located when correctly set on the card bed of an aperture card, and the other where the punch hole indicating diazo film is located. A light sensor tk is placed at position 11 on each card bed, and it is possible to determine for each card which one of them detects light.

Furthermore, when determining the number of punched holes, when an aperture card with a large number of punched holes is correctly set on the card bed, the light is illuminated at all positions on the card bed corresponding to the number of punched holes. By arranging cells and cards, it is possible to determine the number of light sensors for each card.

There is also a type of microfilm copying machine in which the card bed moves in the scanning direction. In that case, the optical sensor 20 on the moving card bed must be connected to a detection circuit placed in the main body of the copying machine.
