The present invention has been made to solve these drawbacks, and aims (1) to provide a sliding contact material that has a high softening temperature, low and stable contact resistance, and excellent wear resistance.

In the sliding contact material of the present invention, Cr is contained in Cu.
, Mg, Zr, P in total of 0.5 to 10
The reason for adding % by weight is to raise the softening temperature of Cu to prevent the contact pieces on the outer periphery from adhering during rotation of the commutator of a small motor, and to make the contact resistance low and stable with little variation. If O and E are less than % by weight, the effect of increasing the softening temperature of Cu is small, and the adhesion phenomenon of the contact piece cannot be prevented.
If the amount exceeds 10% by weight, the amount of oxide produced increases, and the contact resistance of the contact piece becomes high and varies widely, making it unstable.

Zn is added at least -(2
) The reason why seeds are added in a total of 15% by weight or less is to increase lubricity and improve wear resistance, and if it is less than 0.5% by weight, the amount of oxides of added elements generated during sliding contact is small. If the amount of one element exceeds 10% by weight or two or more elements exceeds 15% by weight, the amount of oxides will increase, resulting in high contact resistance and instability. It is what it is.

The thickness of the sliding contact material according to the embodiment of the present invention and the conventional sliding contact material having the component composition shown in the left column of the table below is 0.2.
VS contact pieces were made, and these contact pieces were placed on the upper and lower sides of the outer circumferential surface of the commutator 1 with a diameter of 101 mm and a length of 6 mm, which was provided with three contact pieces on the outer periphery as shown in the drawing. A rotation test was conducted on the commutator 1 under the test conditions described below, with brush contacts 3 having one brush plate material 2 having a length of 0.2 mm and a length of 101 mm being brought into sliding contact so as to face each other. Amount of wear and contact resistance (3) When the resistance was measured, the results shown in the right column of the table below were obtained.

In addition, the contact resistance of the conventional contact piece is 1 to 2Ω, whereas the contact resistance of the contact piece of the embodiment is 0.3 to 0.5Ω.
It can be seen that it is extremely low and stable with little variation.

As detailed above, the sliding contact material of the present invention has a high softening temperature, so the contact pieces on the outer circumference of the commutator of a small motor made using this material do not stick together during sliding contact, and the contact resistance is low and there is no variation. Since the oxide of the added element acts as a lubricant, it has excellent effects such as significantly improved wear resistance.
