Stones can get stuck in the ureter, which is located between the kidneys and bladder of the human body, obstructing the flow of urine and having a negative impact on the human body. Treatment methods include dissolving the stone with medicine, attaching a basket to the tip of a thin wire or tube and placing the stone in it and pulling it out, and inserting the tip of a thin catheter behind the stone. A method of bending the catheter and removing the stone at the same time as pulling out the catheter.
There are methods such as surgery. However, the elution method using drugs is not reliable, and the method of taking the stone into a basket or bending the catheter to scrape out the stone is made of hard material and may damage the ureteral wall during manipulation. There are drawbacks. For this reason, ureteral stones are mainly treated by surgical removal. However, this surgery involves incising the ureter containing the stone, removing the stone, and suturing it, which is extremely difficult, and if the inner surface of the suture is not smooth after surgery, the stone may get caught. However, there are disadvantages such as the fact that the nucleus grows larger again, requiring another surgery, and open surgery may cause after-effects such as adhesions of organs and peritoneum. It cannot be said that there are no other accidents.

Therefore, if stones could be crushed within the ureter and excreted into smaller pieces from the body, the surgical operations, which have many drawbacks as described above, would be unnecessary. For this reason, a method of crushing stones using a small amount of explosives has been considered. This involves inserting a catheter loaded with explosives into the urinary tract through the bladder or the urinary tract, applying the explosive fragmenter to the surface of the target stone, and applying electrical or laser radiation from outside the body. The device causes an explosion, and uses the explosive force to break up the stone and dislodge it from the ureter. However, since the ureter is an extremely thin tube, stones have the disadvantage of being difficult to expel even if they become small pieces.

That is, in the present invention, an inflatable body is provided outside the end 111 of the catheter, and the catheter is inserted into the ureter, and gas or liquid is injected into the inflatable body near the stone to expand the ureter. To provide a ureteral stone treatment device characterized in that the stone is removed from the ureter and removed by removing the stuck stone from the ureter. It is something.

FIG. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of one embodiment of the ureteral stone treatment device of the present invention, in which 1 is a catheter with one end open, and 2 is an inflatable body provided on the outer periphery of the closed side. The inflation body 2 communicates with the interior 5 of the catheter 1 through a communication hole 4. When gas or liquid is pressurized into the interior 5 of the catheter through the pressure inlet 3, it is fed into the inflation body 2 through the communication hole 4 and is inflated. The body expands. This expansion widens the ureter, making it easier to expel the ureteral stone. The figure shows an example of a structure in which one end of the catheter is closed, and the inflatable body 2 is slightly recessed from the distal end, but this is not fixed, and the inflatable body 2
may cover the entire end of the catheter on the closed side. Furthermore, whether the communication hole 4 is provided at the end or the center of the inflatable body 2, its function remains the same.

FIG. 2 is a longitudinal cross-sectional view showing another embodiment of the ureteral stone treatment device of the present invention, in which 6 is a catheter with one opening on both sides, 7 is an inflatable body provided on the outer periphery of one end of the catheter, and 8 is this catheter. This is an introduction pipe for feeding gas or liquid into the expansion body 7.

According to the device of this embodiment, by inflating the inflatable body 7, not only the ureter is expanded, but also the ureter is further expanded, and then a conventional explosive crusher is applied to the stone through the hollow part 9 of the catheter 6. I can do 5 things.

FIG. 3 is a longitudinal cross-sectional view showing the state in which the treatment device of FIG. 2 is used in combination with a conventional explosive crusher. In the figure, 10 is a ureter, 11 is a stone, 12 is an explosive crusher loaded inside the ureteral stone treatment device 13 of the present invention, and 12a is an explosive. In the state shown in the figure, the ureter 10 is expanded by the inflated body 7, and the explosive crusher 12 is applied to the stone 11. If a ureteral stone is crushed with only an explosive crusher, the heat particles and blast wave generated by the blast of the crusher will be strong (hitting the ureteral wall, so there is a risk of damaging the ureteral wall or causing it to rupture. By using the device of the present invention in combination, the inflatable body 7 protects the ureteral wall, so that ureteral stones can be crushed without damaging the ureteral wall.

Furthermore, in the case of the treatment device shown in FIG. 2, it is possible to perform stone removal treatment by inserting an instrument for removing stones, such as forceps, a rod, a catheter, etc., into the ureter through the hollow part 9 of the catheter 6. .

The treatment device of FIG. 2 can also be used to dilate the ureter by injecting gas or liquid into the ureter through the hollow portion 9. In this case, since the inflatable body 7 is in close contact with the ureteral wall,
This helps prevent leakage of gas or fluid that has been pressurized into the ureter. By uniformly inflating the ureter in this way, it becomes extremely easy to expel and remove the stone.

In Figures 1 and 2, the expansion body is provided on the outer periphery of the catheter, but the expansion body is not necessarily limited to this, and the expansion does not have to be uniform. By determining the mounting position and shape of the inflatable body, its function can be demonstrated. There are also no particular restrictions on the material of the catheter. For example, the distal end on the side to be inserted into the ureter may be a hard metal tube. Further, the catheter does not necessarily have to be a single tube with a circular cross section, and many functions can be achieved by incorporating thinner catheters of a number and shape depending on the purpose.

As mentioned above, the ureteral stone treatment devices that have been developed and used so far include devices that take the stone into a basket and devices that pull out the stone by bending the tip of the catheter. Because the device was inserted directly into the extremely thin and soft ureter, there was a risk of damage to the ureter. On the other hand, in the ureteral stone treatment device of the present invention, the ureteral dilation is performed using an inflatable body inflated with gas or liquid, so it can be expanded without damaging even the soft ureteral wall, and the ureteral stone near the stone can be dilated. When the tube is dilated with this device, the narrowed area where the stone is trapped expands, making it easier for the stone to be expelled. Furthermore, in the case of a type with openings at both ends (see Figure 2)
, when gas or liquid is directly injected into the ureter from the hollow part in its center, the ureter near the ureter expands uniformly.
jl The stone is expelled more than if it were dilated with the tension body alone. After dilating the ureter in this way, the device is equipped with tools for removing the stone, such as an explosive crusher, forceps for removing the stone, a retrieval rod, and optical fibers. By loading and operating the stone, the stone is safely crushed and removed safely and easily.

During this treatment, the dilation of the ureter, the expulsion or removal of the stone, etc. are monitored by inflating the inflatable body or ureter with a liquid containing XII contrast agent. It can be observed as I-Lun. It can also be seen by combining optical fibers.

As described above, according to the device of the present invention, stone treatment within a narrow ureter can be safely and reliably performed without resorting to surgical operations or the like.
