A flat motor comprising a flat rotor having a gear portion formed on its outer periphery, a stator opposing the rotor through an axial gap, and a motor case provided with an opening through which a part of the gear portion of the rotor is exposed; a first reel stand to which rotational force is transmitted in direct relation to the rotating shaft of the motor; a 21st reel stand to which rotational force is transmitted via a driven gear that meshes with a gear portion of the rotor; A tape recorder consisting of a motor speed control circuit using a gear section.
