Abstract

PURPOSE:To compensate outlines of luminance changing portions and also of color changing portions, by flowing an electric current corresponding to the differential waveform of a color difference signal which corresponds to the luminous color of the projecting cathode-ray tube, or a composite signal of said color difference signal and a luminance signal, to the auxiliary deflecting coil of each projection cathode-ray tube. CONSTITUTION:Each color difference signal of the output from a color demodulating circuit 17 is differentiated at differentiating circuits 18, 19, and 20, and luminance signals Y from an image amplifying circuit 21 is differentiated at another differentiating circuit 22, and then, they are combined at an adequate ratio at combining circuits 23, 24, and 25 and drive auxiliary deflecting coils 14, 15, and 16 of each projecting cathode-ray tube, respectively. When the color difference signal and the luminance signal are equally combined as a combining ratio at the combining circuits 23, 24, and 25, the same result as differentiating the original color signal is obtained. When such a circuit configuration is applied, corrections of preshoot and overshoot can be applied to images at the edge part of color change at every original color in accordance with the change in the color component, and, therefore, the outline part can be improved sharply.

Conventionally, a method has been used in direct-view color television receivers to correct image contours by passing an auxiliary deflection current corresponding to the differential waveform of the luminance signal through an auxiliary deflection coil attached to the neck of a cathode ray tube. . An example of the structure of the neck portion of the cathode ray tube in this case is shown in FIG. d in the diagram

In a conventional television receiver, an auxiliary deflection current corresponding to a waveform obtained by differentiating a luminance signal is passed through the auxiliary deflection coils (5) and (61) to correct the outline of the image.

In addition to this method, there is a conventional method for image contour correction that emphasizes the high-frequency components of the video signal and adds preshoot or overshoot to the signal waveform itself. In areas where the electron beam is emphasized and has a higher brightness, the current density of the electron beam itself becomes larger and tends to cause pluming. However, in the method of modulating the deflection speed of the electron beam using an auxiliary deflection coil, The current density of the electron beam extracted from the electron beam does not change even at pre-seated or overshoot portions, making it possible to perform clean contour correction with little blooming.

All three electron guns for blue are included, and all the electron beams can only be auxiliary deflected at the same time by a pair of auxiliary deflection coils (6) and (61. Therefore, the auxiliary deflection current is , the differential waveform is obtained from the brightness signal common to red, green, and blue. For this reason,
Inconveniently, contour correction cannot be performed in areas where the luminance signal changes, and correction cannot be performed in areas where only color changes.

In this apparatus, as shown in FIG. 2, television images of multiple colors such as R2G and B are separately transmitted from projection tubes 7, 8.9 for each color through lens systems 10° 11.12. In a projection type color television device that projects a color image onto the surface of a projection screen 13, auxiliary deflection coils 14, 15° 16 are provided at the necks of projection tubes 7, 8° 9 for each color, and each auxiliary deflection coil 14, 15° 16 Deflection coil 14,1
5.16 is characterized in that a deflection current corresponding to a differential waveform of a color difference signal corresponding to each projection screen, 8 and 9, or a signal obtained by combining a luminance signal and a color difference signal is caused to flow.

Next, in the block diagram of the driving circuit of the embodiment shown in FIG. Further, the luminance signal Y from the video amplification circuit 21 is differentiated by another differentiation circuit 22,
They are combined at an appropriate ratio in a combining circuit 23.24.25, and the auxiliary deflection coils 14, 16.15 of each projection tube 7, 8.9 are driven through drive circuits 26, 27.28.

At this time, if equal amounts of the differential signals of the color difference signal and the luminance signal are synthesized as a synthesis ratio in the synthesis circuits 23, 24, and 25, the result will be the same as that obtained by differentiating the primary color signal.

With such a circuit configuration, in the past it was only possible to correct preshoot and overshoot only in areas where the luminance signal changes, but with this device, each primary color can be corrected according to changes in color components. Preshoot and oversheet corrections can be applied to the image at the edges of each color change, and as a result, the contours of the color image can be significantly improved.

Further, in the circuit shown in FIG. 3, a synthesis circuit is provided after passing through the differentiation circuit, but the same effect can be obtained even if the luminance signal and color difference signal are synthesized and then passed through the differentiation circuit. Further, although a configuration is shown in which a color difference output is obtained as a color demodulation circuit, the same effect can be obtained even if a circuit that outputs a primary color signal is used and is combined with a luminance signal.

As described above, according to the present invention, in a device for projecting a color television image by projecting television images of a plurality of colors onto a projection screen using a projection tube, an auxiliary deflection coil is provided at the neck portion of each projection tube. The electron beam scanning speed of each projection tube is modulated by passing in each projection tube an auxiliary deflection current corresponding to a differential waveform of a color difference signal corresponding to the emission color of those projection tubes or a composite signal of the color difference signal and a luminance signal. By doing so, it is possible to add preshade and oversheet to the image for each color, and it is possible to obtain a useful device that can correct contours even in areas where only color changes, which was previously impossible. It is possible.
