Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the uneven film thickness in the outside circumferential part of an optical recording and reproducing disc and the defective recording and reproducing near the outside circumference and to improve commodity value without generating cracking of the film, etc., in the stage of applying a hard film treatment on said disc, by chamfering the outside circumferential end part of the disc. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of forming cured protective films 3 on both surfaces of an optical recording and reproducing disc wherein an acrylic plate 1 or the like is used, and optical recording and reproducing layers 2 are provided thereon and further another acrylic plates 7, etc. are superposed thereon by spin-coating a mixture contg. crosslinkable monomers such as dipentaerythtol hexaacrylate, epoxy acrylate, trimethylolpropane acrylate or the like and curing the coating, the outside circumferential part A of such disc is chamfered at 5-60 deg. angle alpha so that the width l in the part where the film thickness of the end part increases is made <=1mm.. Said part is chamfered to a semicircular shape wherein the radius R is 1/2-4/5 the thickness (t) of the disc and the films 3 are formed. The uneven film thicknesses are thus eliminated in the outside circumferential part.

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は光学式の記録、再生円盤に関し、特に円盤表面
に硬質被膜を形成させ、外周端部の被膜が均一な円盤を
提供するものである。

従来、光学式記録円盤は、円形のプラスチック板に、光
学的に記録、再生可能な記録層を形成させる工程を経て
、その後必要に、応じて他のプラスチック板を重ね合せ
、前記記録層を保護するのが一般的であった。この従来
の問題点は記録層の保護に用いたプラスチック板も、砂
ぼこりや製造時の異物との接触により、その表面に表す
が付くことであった。これは、レーザ光を用いる光学式
記録、再生円盤でも問題となってきている。すなわち、
これが記録、再生信号にノイズとして現われるという問
題であった。これに対し包発明者らは従来の方法で製造
した光学式記録円盤に、特開昭56−22364号公報
、特開昭66−135626号公報のコーティング組成
物を塗装、硬化させ、透明硬質被膜を形成させることに
よって顕著なぎ千付き防止効果が現われることを見いだ
した。しかしながら、スピン乾燥後のコーティング材料
は粘度が高くなり、表面張力も増加することから円盤端
部の膜厚差が大きく100μ以上にもなることがあった
。これは、円盤端部に小さな膜厚tらとなって現われ美
観が失なわれるばかりでなく、膜が割れたり外周付近の
記録、再生時に光の屈折異常が起こるという問題が生じ
た。

However, the viscosity of the coating material after spin drying becomes high, and the surface tension also increases, so that the difference in film thickness at the edge of the disc is large, sometimes reaching 100 μm or more. This not only results in a small film thickness t at the edge of the disc, which impairs its aesthetic appearance, but also causes problems such as cracks in the film and abnormal refraction of light during recording and reproduction near the outer periphery.

ケトンとの混合溶剤で粘度16 cps (26℃)の
