CONSTITUTION:A controlling circuit 10 alternately selects 2 exciting coils 6a, 6b and 2 co-ordinate value calculating circuits 9a, 9b by an exciting coil selecting circuit 12. The circuits 9a, 9b calculate a co-ordinate value of a position indicated by a co-ordinate indicator, by an induced voltage value induced by the corresponding coils 6a, 6b. In this case, when a distance between a coil 5a and a sense line, a distance between the coils 5a, 5b, a co-ordinate value calculated by the coil 5a, and a co-ordinate value calculated by the coil 5b are denoted as H1, H2, X1 and X2, respectvely, a circuit 13 calculates a co-ordinate value X of a position indicated by the co-ordinate indicator, by X=((H1+H2)/H2).X1)- (H1/H2).X2.
