Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve visual recognizability to prevent erroneous operations, by displaying the propriety of transferring data in response to a means, which sets the propriety of imprinting data, in a camera provided with an external display means for an electronic clock and a display means for imprinting data to a film. CONSTITUTION:An electronic clock 11 has a quartz oscillator and counters for seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, and years, and a mode selector 13 selects the output of the clock 11. A imprinting propriety setting device 14 outputs H for imprinting permission to a signal line l1 and output L for transfer rejection to this signal line. An external display 15 displays the output of the clock, which is selected by the selector 13, on the outside. The output of the line l1, the output of the selector 13, and the output of an AND gate G1 are inputted to an imprinting device 16, and the device 16 drives a propriety display 40 for H of the line l1 and extinguishes the display of the display 40 for L. When a trigger signal is generated in relation to the photographic operation, the gate G1 outputs H, and a display 17 for imprinting is lit. When the line l1 is L, the display 17 is not lit even if the trigger signal is generated.

It is preferable to place it towards the end of the lid (built-in to the lid). On the other hand, the external display means for displaying data input to the photographer is often placed on the camera's lid or on the top of the camera body in order to improve visibility (for example,

1 and 2 are examples of external display means according to the present invention. In FIG. 1, an electro-optical display device 5 such as a liquid crystal display element displays photographic data and the like externally. Display sections 1.2 and 3 each consisting of a set of two seven-segment display bodies
Displays the contents of the imprint data such as year, month, day, hour, minute, and second to be imprinted on the film. FIG. 1 shows a state in which data imprinting is prohibited, and only imprinted data is displayed on the liquid crystal panel 5.

FIG. 3 is a further embodiment of the external display means according to the present invention, showing the external display in a state in which data is imprinted. In this example, is the data imprinted state? Since the mark 4b indicating ``J'' and ``Software'' flashes, the photographer can clearly recognize that the data is being imprinted. In addition, if the flashing is synchronized with the seconds, it can be used to count the seconds or to confirm the timing operation. In this embodiment as well, when data imprinting is prohibited, the display is in the state shown in FIG. 3 (bl).

FIG. 4 shows another embodiment of the external display means according to the present invention, in which the external display is always displayed when data is being imprinted. That is, when the data imprinting state is reached, the marks 4c and 4d indicating this are alternately displayed, and the states of FIG. 4 1bl and FIG. 4 1bl are alternately created. The mark 4d is a mark 4cf with the letter P in a black background, so the photographer can read the letter P in both cases of Figure 4 (al) and Figure 4 (bl), so the data is in the imprinted state. Since the marks 4c and 4d are flashing alternately, it can be clearly seen that the data has been imprinted.Even if you use the English words r Pr1nt J for the marks 4c and 4d. Good. The display element pattern of the marks 4c and 4d is shown in FIG. 5. That is, in order to display the black character P on the white character as shown in FIG.
Decolorize the liquid crystal 4d. The transparent portion 4e is always visible through a white plate provided at the bottom of the liquid crystal substrate.

@Figure 6 shows a block diagram of the electrical system according to the present invention. The electronic timepiece 11 has a crystal, a second counter, a minute counter, an hour counter, a day counter, a month counter, and a year counter. The correction device ff12 is for correcting the time measured by the electronic sub-clock, and is activated by an operation button. The mode selector 13 is operated from the outside to select and output one of the day, hour, and minute outputs of the electronic clock and the year, month, and day outputs. The imprinting permission setting device ff14 selects whether imprinting is possible or not by an external operation (for example, a switch operation).

On the other hand, when the imprinting trigger signal 81g-1 ("H") is generated in connection with a photographing operation or by manual operation when imprinting is possible, the AND gate G1 outputs "H". In response to this, the device 16 inputs the output of the mode selector 13 to the projection display device (LED segment display device) 17 to cause it to emit light. This light emission causes the input data to be imprinted onto the film. Even if the imprint trigger signal gig -1 is generated on the signal line t1 of L1, AN

As described above, according to the present invention, the data to be imprinted and the information on whether to imprint all of it are clearly summarized on the external display, so visibility is improved and it is possible to prevent forgetting to imprint. Also, since the shooting date is displayed in any case, you can always use it as a clock if you display the hours, minutes, and seconds as data, or as a film counter if you display the number of film shots. .
