Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the load balance in case of driving a common load by connecting in parallel the secondary coils of two induction motors and then connecting them to the same pole of a liquid resistor. CONSTITUTION:Two wound-rotor induction motors 1, 2 are driven by mechanically coupling them through couplers 3, 4 to a load 5. Motors 1, 2 are regulated by the couplers 3, 4 so that the secondary voltage phase becomes in phase with the primary voltage phase. The secondary coils of the motors 1, 2 are respectively electrically connected in parallel with each other through slip rings 6, 7 in the same phase sequence. The secondary coils of the motors 1, 2 are connected to the same poles of liquid resistor. Since the liquid resistor provided at the secondary side becomes an electrically common circuit with the above configuration, the load balance of driving the common load with two motors can be improved.
