Abstract

PURPOSE:To remarkably improve connecting efficiency, by constituting a traveling connector with the preceding traveling connector and the succeeding traveling connector. CONSTITUTION:In a roughing mill 1, the tail end part of the preceding material 5 to be rolled moves in the inside of the preceding traveling connector A started previously, and when the end part arrives at the clamping position, a lower clamp supporting plate 20 is raised to raise the upper surfaces of projections 19 and 19' used for clamping to the upper side above a pass line by driving cylinders 22 and 22' used for driving a clamp. On the other hand, the heading end part of the succeeding material 5' to be rolled is cut by a crop shear 8 to enter the succeeding traveling connector B, and begins to move in rapid acceleration. And the upper surface of projections 19 and 19' used for clamping are raised to the upper side above the pass line to make both materials 5 and 5' abut onto each other by driving the cylinders 22 and 22' used for driving the clamp. In said state, both materials 5 and 5' are bitten by a group of finish mills 2 by applying an electric current on the upper and lower supporting plates 16 and 20, respectively.

In conventional hot rolling lines, rolling materials are rolled one by one by discontinuous rolling, in which rough rolling and finishing rolling are performed. Therefore, each rolled material had to be smoothly bitten by the upper and lower rolls of the rough rolling mill group and the finishing rolling mill group, respectively, and it was necessary to adjust the tip shape and plate thickness of each rolled material. After finish rolling of the tip, it was necessary to reduce the speed in order to smoothly pass the sheet to the coiler. Furthermore, there is a space between the preceding rolled material and the subsequent rolled material, where no rolling work is performed, resulting in the problem of low effective utilization of equipment and poor production efficiency.

Therefore, the present patent applicant sequentially lowered each roller of the conveying roller table 3 installed between the rough rolling mill group 1 and the finishing rolling mill group 2 shown in FIG. The leading rolled material 5 and the trailing rolled material 5' are connected while being rolled, and after the connecting machine 4 has passed, the valley rollers are raised to their original positions and the rolled materials are conveyed. In the figure, 6 is a heating furnace, 7 is a coiler, and 8 is a crop shear.

Although the above-mentioned invention has been able to solve various problems in discontinuous rolling, it is necessary to raise and lower all the rollers in the running range of the rolling connector, which requires large-scale equipment. In the above method, since it is necessary to start the run of the running joint machine together with the rear end of the preceding rolled material, there is a distance of several meters between the trailing rolled material and the running joint machine.
In order to smoothly pass the tip of the trailing rolled material, the pitch of each roller must be 1 m or less, and a large number of rollers are required.

Therefore, the inventors of the present invention have conducted extensive research in order to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks of the conventional technology by increasing the pitch of each roller, and have found that the problem can be solved by dividing the running connector into two parts. This is what was discovered and proposed as the present invention.

The present invention is constructed as described above, and has a pre-rolled material 5.
After passing through the rough rolling mill group 1, the preceding rolling connecting machine A starts running together with the preceding rolling material 5, and there is a distance of ! between it and the following rolling material 5'. However, in the present invention, since the trailing running connecting machine B is present, the tip of the trailing rolled material 5' is connected to the lifting roller 5-1.5 of the conveying roller table 3. -2, + + - There is no possibility that it will bend downward and threading will become impossible. As a result, there is no need to set the pitch between the lifting rollers to about 1m as in the past, and the rolling material can be rolled! ! ! It is possible to set the pitch to 5m without any problem.
