Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the operability of attachment and detachment by using a material which has enough rigidity to hold itself in a sheet shape on a naturally left condition and is light-nontransmissible while specifying the surface roughness of the contacting side for the photosensitive layer of a photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION:A sheet 10 of paper, nonwoven fabric, etc., has enough rigidity to hold itself in a sheet shape on a naturally left condition and is light-nontransmissible. Then, the surface roughness of the contacting side for the photoreceptor is specified to >=1mum in terms of JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard)-R(Z) and several cuts 10b are provided at the upper end. When he photoreceptor is a drum, the sheet 10 is formed cylindrically with the contacting side in and while both edges 10c and 10d are opposed at a slight interval, their center outside surfaces are stuck together with an adhesive tape 11. The photoreceptor is covered with the protecting cover formed as mentioned above to protect the photoreceptor against surface flaws and optical fatigue.

Photoreceptors in electrophotographic copying machines are often made of photoreceptors that have a Se-based photosensitive layer, but although it requires numerous steps and time to manufacture, it does not peel off even with the slightest impact or blow. It has the disadvantage that it can become damaged and become unusable. When a selenium-based photoreceptor is exposed to contact with hands, fingers, etc., and fat, saliva, sweat, etc. are deposited on the photoreceptor, the photoreceptor layer becomes red crystallized, resulting in an abnormal image.

For this reason, the photoreceptor does not receive blows or shocks not only during its production and transportation stages, but also during repair and replacement. It must be stored so that liquids, sweat, etc. do not adhere to it.

By the way, in an electrophotographic copying device, a general VC, a charger, a boundary device, a static eliminator, a cleaning device, etc. are arranged close to the outer periphery of a photoreceptor, and in particular, a charger, a static eliminator, a cleaning device, etc.
Elephant rollers, squeeze rollers, etc. are high quality belly shots + 1 elephant
It is arranged close to the outer peripheral surface of the nationally recognized VC photoreceptor. The photoreceptor is inserted into a space surrounded by the various devices described above and is loaded in its proper position. It must be loaded so that it cannot be struck or shocked by contact. In contrast, conventionally, a guide device for each wing, which smoothly loads the photoreceptor into its proper position, has been incorporated into the copying machine.

However, no guiding device has yet been developed that completely prevents the photoreceptor from coming into contact with various devices facing it when it is loaded, and even if such a mounting were developed, it would be extremely difficult to do so. There is a risk that it will be expensive, and it is difficult to put it into practical use as a product.

In the current Tanoko Yosada type copying machine, the photoconductor is replaced at regular intervals due to deterioration of its performance, but the actual reason for replacing the photoconductor is due to its long-term use. This is not due to performance deterioration, but in many cases, when the photoreceptor is attached/detached, it is moved unsmoothly and the outer surface is scratched, resulting in peeling defects that occur on the photosensitive layer, or red crystallization of the photosensitive layer due to adhesion of fat, saliva, sweat, etc. The reality is that this is one of the causes of high running costs and service costs for copying machines.

In addition, since the entire outer circumferential surface of a photoreceptor is generally a photosensitive layer, service personnel have to hold the photoreceptor with their hands when attaching and removing it, making it very difficult to work with the photoreceptor. This is one of the causes of scratches on the photosensitive layer when putting on and taking off the body. Furthermore, if a serviceman accidentally touches the photosensitive layer of the photoreceptor with his hand, finger, etc., the photosensitive layer will crystallize into red color due to fat deposited thereon.

Therefore, the applicant first molded a cylindrical protective cover 1 shown in FIG. 1 or a sheet-like protective cover 2 shown in FIG. The protective cover 1 is placed over the photoreceptor 8 before being loaded, or is wound around the photoreceptor 3 and both edges thereof are pasted with a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 2α.
Insert it into the machine in this state, and when it is inserted a little before the normal mounting position, carefully pull out the protective cover 1 or 2 from the photoconductor 8, leaving the photoconductor 8 at that position, and then I considered either inserting the body 8 further into the normal position and loading it, or inserting it all at once to the normal loading position and then gently removing the protective cover 1 or 2. By doing this, the photosensitive layer of the photoconductor is covered with a protective cover before it is attached to the aircraft, so there is no impact on it.
Even if a shock is applied, the photosensitive layer will not peel off or be missing.
It also prevents fat from adhering to the photosensitive layer, sardine liquid, sweat, etc. due to contact with hands, fingers, etc., and service personnel can freely grasp the photoconductor from outside the protective cover. As a result, the workability of loading the photoreceptor has been significantly improved, and the occurrence of work errors has been reduced. However, since a synthetic resin film such as polyester is used, the frictional resistance between the protective cover and the photosensitive layer of the photoreceptor is extremely high, making it difficult to slip, increasing the number of areas where the photosensitive layer is rubbed.
There are disadvantages in that abnormal images such as streaks, black dots, white and black unevenness are likely to occur, and the workability of attachment and detachment is also poor.

Next, how to use it will be explained. In the case of a photoreceptor or a drum, the protective cover IO has a cylindrical shape with the contact side lOa facing inward as shown in FIG.
(Place the M's facing each other with a small distance between them, and attach their approximately central outer surfaces with an adhesive tape 11. Or, as shown in FIG.
The edges 10C, 1 (Jd) may be polymerized and the approximately central outer surface thereof may be attached with an adhesive tape 11. After the cylindrical protective cover IO is attached to the photoreceptor drum, it is inserted as shown in FIG. When you shift the rear direction with your finger as shown by the arrow to expand it into a tapered shape and insert it into the machine, it will connect to the charger, developing device, static eliminator, cleaning device, etc. installed near the mounting part of the photoreceptor drum. It can be installed without any pinching. When removing the photoreceptor drum, as shown in Fig. 9, hold the tip of the cylindrical protective cover 10 attached to the photoreceptor drum in the removal direction with your fingers as indicated by the arrow. If the photoreceptor 12 is tapered and taken out from the machine body, it is easy to take it out.If the photoreceptor 12 is flat as shown in Fig. 1υ, the contact ffl+10 of the protective cover 10
α is placed in contact with the photosensitive layer V of the photoreceptor 12.

The protective cover is made of a synthetic resin film such as polyester (for example, polyester), and the surface roughness is reduced to JIS RI by processing such as honing, chemical etching, and mechanical scratching on the side in contact with the photoconductor. It may be possible to make the distance smaller than 1μ.

According to the present invention, the surface roughness of the contact side of the photoreceptor with the photosensitive layer is
JTS R (Z) is made to have a thickness of 1μ or more, and has the rigidity to maintain a sheet-like shape when left alone, and is non-transparent to light, so there is no friction between the protective cover and the photoconductor when attaching it to and removing it from the photoconductor. The resistance is small and it slides well, so there are streaks and black spots.

Abnormal images such as white and black unevenness are less likely to occur, and workability for attaching and detaching is also good. (The photosensitive layer of the photoreceptor is easily affected by light, especially ultraviolet rays, so it is preferable to store it in a dark place. However, the protective cover of the present invention is made of a material that does not transmit light or is treated to be opaque. Since it is transparent, even when the photoreceptor is replaced, there is almost no time for it to be exposed to light, so the degree of fatigue of the photoreceptor can be reduced.
