Abstract

PURPOSE:To display the state of usage of a video tape a photographer with a simple mechanism, by providing a projecting means illuminating the outer circumference of winding of a video tape and leading the image of outer circumference of winding with this projection to an optical finder system. CONSTITUTION:An image picked up luminous flux 5 from an objective is plit with a beam splitter 3 of an image pickup optical system, the transmitted luminous flux is formed on a pickup element 6 via a relay lens 4, and the reflected luminous flux is observed by a photographer via relay lenses 7, 8, a mirror 9 and an eyepiece lens 10. The projecting means consisting of a light source 20 provided at the right side of a video tape cassette 11 and a light diffusion prism 22 forms the image of the winding outer circumferences (a), (b) of video tapes 12A, 12B and their clearances 15 on the same plane as the primary image forming plane of the optical finder system so as not to be overlapped with the image of the objective, allowing to display the usage state of the video tape for the photographer.

Compared to the conventional method of recording television images using the magnetic recording device of a mirror device, when taking silver pictures using the camera-integrated II magnetic sickle image device, which is easy to carry, the range of action for mother jI photography can be expanded. However, there are problems in that people take pictures without knowing the amount of video tape to be used or the amount remaining, and they miss out on great opportunities to take pictures due to a shortage of video tape, or are unable to take scheduled pictures. In addition, there is a method of detecting changes in the rotational speed of a tape reel due to the amount of tape used, and reading the changes to calculate and display the amount of remaining tape. This has the drawback that a calculation means is required and the mechanism becomes complicated.
