Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an alloy for spinning nozzles for rayon, acrylic fibers, etc. by contg. a specific amt. of Ga in Pt thereby providing are hardenability. CONSTITUTION:An alloy for spinning nozzles consisting of 80-98wt% Pt, 2- 20% Ga and 65-95% Pt, 2-20% Ga and the balance Pd. The hardness after age hardening is improved by this alloy compsn. and the alloy for spinning nozzles of superior workability, abrasion resistance and pressure resistance is obtained. Such alloy is suited for materials for rayon and acrylic fiber yarns.

Conventionally, gold-platinum (30-5 ob) alloy has been widely used as a material for the above-mentioned rayon-based and acrylic-based fiber spinning nozzles. This alloy has excellent workability for thin sheets, drawing, and fine holes before aging treatment, but its wear resistance and pressure resistance after aging treatment are low. The problem was that when the edge of the spinning side of the spinning surface became thin, it could break.

The present invention was made in order to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks, and aims to provide an alloy for spinning nozzles that is excellent in processability, wear resistance, and pressure resistance.

The reason for adding gallium to the alloy for spinning nozzles according to the present invention is that, as is clear from the binary phase diagram of platinum-gallium, gallium has a maximum bath amount of 6W10 compared to platinum at 1361°C, and its solidity The solubility gradually decreases as the temperature decreases, and after performing a solution treatment that heats to a solid solution region and rapidly cools it, it exhibits remarkable age hardening when aged at an appropriate temperature.

If the amount added is less than 2W10, there is little improvement in hardness, and if it exceeds 20'N10, the amount of intermetallic compound of platinum and gallium increases, resulting in poor workability. Further, the reason for adding palladium is to prevent the acid resistance and alkali resistance from decreasing due to the addition of potassium.
