Abstract

PURPOSE:To accomplish cleaning and supply of lubricating oil to a driving chain automatically with no need of labors of an operator, by impregnating lubricating oil in a pair of bosses made of a fibrous material which are disposed on the opposite sides of a sprocket, and keeping a driving chain in contact with the bosses. CONSTITUTION:Since a pin link plate 12 and a roller link plate 13 are rolled along a roller 7 while keeping contact with a pair of bosses 11, 11, lubricating oil impregnated in the bosses 11, 11 is supplied automatically to the rotating parts and contact parts of a driving chain 5 via the pin link plate 12 and the roller link plate 13. Therefore, foreign matter attached to the driving chain 5 is absorbed in fibers of the bosses 11, 11 of the roller 7 by the intermediary of lubricating oil.

In addition, other lubrication means can lubricate the drive chain without requiring a large amount of manpower, but they require large mechanisms such as casings and pumps, resulting in high costs and requiring a large installation space. There are restrictions on the use of this technology in shed machinery, etc. due to price, complexity of structure, and increasing space requirements.
