Conventionally, when connecting synthetic resin pipes without using an adhesive, a flange projecting inward from the periphery is attached to the end 2' of the pipe joint 1', as seen in Japanese Patent Publication No. 45-14746. A fitting tube 3' having a rim 4' is fitted therein, and an elastic ring 5' is held in the gap between the end 2' of the pipe joint 1' and the flange edge 4' of the fitting tube 3'. It is known that the end of an elastic ring 5' is brought into contact with the outer wall surface of a pipe 6' inserted into a pipe joint 1' to connect the pipe 6' in a watertight manner.

However, in conventional pipe joints, the elastic ring body 5' is held in the gap between the end 2' of the pipe joint 1' and the flange 4' of the fitting tube 3', so the wall thickness of the pipe joint 1' is made small. Therefore, the elastic ring body 5' must be held stably, which has the disadvantage that it cannot be used in, for example, synthetic resin gutters or thin synthetic resin pipes.

The gist of the present invention is that the expansion cylinder part of a tube body is formed with an expansion cylinder part at the end of the tube, and a stepped part is formed at the base of the expansion cylinder part.
A fitting tube having an inner diameter that is smaller than the outer diameter of the expanding tube portion is fitted, and a rim of the fitting tube on the tube end side of the tube body has a flange that projects inward. The present invention is a pipe joint in which an elastic ring body is fitted into a circumferential groove formed by the stepped portion of the tube body, the expanding tube portion, and the flange edge of the fitting tube.

When the pipe end 9 of the synthetic resin pipe or the synthetic resin pipe C is inserted into the opening 6 of the fitting tube B, the outer wall of the pipe end 9 is pressed against the elastic ring 8 and bonded. The synthetic resin downpipe or the synthetic resin pipe C is connected to the pipe body A without using any agent, and the connection is watertight and allows for expansion and contraction movement due to temperature changes.

In the pipe joint of the present invention, an expandable cylindrical portion is formed at the end of the tube, and a stepped portion is formed at the base of the expandable cylindrical portion of the pipe body. A fitting tube having an inner diameter similar to that of the Japanese dog is fitted, and a flange extending inward is formed on the circumferential edge of the fitting tube on the tube end side of the tube body. Since the elastic ring is fitted into the circumferential groove formed by the stepped part, the expanding cylinder part, and the flange edge of the fitting cylinder, it can be used as a joint for, for example, synthetic resin pipes or thin-walled synthetic resin pipes. Even when applied, the elastic ring body is stably held within the circumferential groove, and the pipes can be connected watertightly without using adhesive during construction, and can be expanded and contracted freely.
